This is an early schedule as of August 12, 2026, not a complete monthly calendar: two Netflix anime titles have October-only announcements, A Day Like No Other is confirmed for Spain and Latin America, and Disney+’s The Banana Bowl is live programming rather than a scripted show.
The strongest confirmed October 2026 premieres are Carrie on Prime Video, VisionQuest on Disney+, The Terminal List Season 2 on Prime Video, and Crystal Lake on Peacock. The current schedule also includes two Netflix anime sequels announced only for the month of October, plus a regional Spanish-language Netflix series and a Disney+ live sports-entertainment event.
This is an early, officially confirmed preview of what is coming as of , not a complete October calendar. Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and other services may add more titles and exact dates later. The list below separates firm premiere dates from month-only announcements, regional releases and live programming so you can tell what is actually confirmed.

The best confirmed October 2026 premieres
Carrie — Prime Video, October 7
Prime Video’s Carrie is the clearest horror pick for October. Mike Flanagan’s eight-episode television adaptation of Stephen King’s 1974 novel premieres exclusively on Prime Video on October 7, 2026. Summer H. Howell leads the cast, and King is credited as an executive producer.
Unlike the month-only Netflix announcements below, this one has both a specific date and a confirmed release pattern: all eight episodes are scheduled to arrive at once. Prime Video says the series will be available in more than 240 countries and territories, making it the most broadly confirmed international title in this preview. Local catalog timing and availability can still vary by market.
If you want optional companion reading before the premiere, Stephen King’s Carrie novel is the book behind the new adaptation. Buying or reading it is not necessary to follow the series, but it offers the original version of the story before Flanagan’s television interpretation.
VisionQuest — Disney+, October 14
Marvel Television’s VisionQuest debuts exclusively on Disney+ on October 14, 2026. Paul Bettany returns as Vision, while James Spader reprises Ultron.
Recommended Free Tools
Marvel positions the series as the concluding part of the storyline that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Viewers who have not seen those earlier series may get more from VisionQuest by watching them first, particularly because the new show is tied to the continuing Vision and Westview-era Marvel storyline.
The announcement confirms the premiere date, but it does not establish whether Disney+ will release the season weekly or make multiple episodes available at launch. Treat October 14 as the opening date, not as a promise that the entire season will be available that day.
The Terminal List Season 2 — Prime Video, October 21
Chris Pratt returns in the second season of The Terminal List, which Prime Video has announced for October 21, 2026. The series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video.
The date was announced during Amazon MGM Studios’ 2026 Upfront presentation. At this stage, the confirmed information establishes the premiere day but does not establish the episode count or whether Season 2 will arrive all at once or roll out weekly. Those details should be checked against Prime Video’s final October listing when it is published.
Anime coming to Netflix in October
Ranma1/2 Season 3 — Netflix, October 2026
Netflix and MAPPA have confirmed that Ranma1/2 Season 3 is scheduled to premiere in October 2026. It is a strong recommendation for viewers who followed the first two seasons of the modern adaptation.

There is no official day yet, so do not treat this as an October 1 release or attach it to a particular week. Netflix has confirmed the month and its exclusivity, but the exact premiere date and release pattern remain to be announced. Fans interested in the source material can also look for the original Ranma 1/2 manga, although the exact edition and current availability should be checked before buying.
The Ramparts of Ice Season 2 — Netflix, October 2026
Netflix confirmed an October 2026 premiere for Season 2 of The Ramparts of Ice at Anime Expo 2026. The series is based on Kocha Agasawa’s manga.
The story follows four high-school students whose friendships develop around Koyuki Hikawa, an emotionally guarded character. That premise makes the show a different kind of October recommendation from the action, superhero and horror titles elsewhere on this list. As with Ranma1/2, Netflix has announced the month but not a specific day or episode-release schedule.
A regional Netflix release to watch carefully
A Day Like No Other — Netflix, October 9 in Spain and Latin America
A Day Like No Other is an eight-episode biographical series about Spanish singer Raphael. Netflix has announced an October 9, 2026 premiere, but the confirmed release is exclusive to Spain and Latin America.
That geographic qualification matters. The available announcement does not establish a U.S. Netflix release, so viewers in the United States should not assume the series will appear in their catalog on October 9. It is best understood as a confirmed regional Netflix premiere unless Netflix makes a separate announcement for additional territories.
October horror: Carrie and Crystal Lake
October’s most dependable genre double bill is currently split between Prime Video and Peacock.
- Carrie — October 7 on Prime Video: an eight-episode adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, with all episodes scheduled to arrive together.
- Crystal Lake — October 15 on Peacock: a prequel series set in the world of Friday the 13th.
Crystal Lake is not part of the Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ or HBO Max group named in the original search brief, but it is too relevant to an October horror watchlist to leave out. Peacock has confirmed an exclusive October 15 premiere.
The two shows also offer different kinds of franchise appeal: Carrie is a new television interpretation of a Stephen King novel, while Crystal Lake expands the backstory of the Friday the 13th universe. The available announcements do not establish the full-season release pattern for Crystal Lake.
Live programming: The Banana Bowl on Disney+
Disney+ will be the exclusive U.S. streaming home of The Banana Bowl, a live championship event featuring the Savannah Bananas and the top teams in the Banana Ball league. Disney has confirmed an October 2026 window but has not provided a specific date in the announcement reviewed here.

This belongs in an “also streaming” section rather than beside scripted premieres. It is live sports-entertainment programming, not a movie or television drama, and viewers should expect event scheduling rather than a standard season premiere.
Prime Video also has scheduled live sports in October 2026, including Thursday Night Football games and NWSL matches. Those broadcasts may be useful to sports viewers, but they are separate from Prime Video’s new scripted releases and are not included as movies or shows in the main recommendations.

Netflix
Netflix currently has two confirmed October 2026 titles with no exact day: Ranma1/2 Season 3 and The Ramparts of Ice Season 2. It also has the firm October 9 date for A Day Like No Other in Spain and Latin America.
Netflix’s broader 2026 slate indicates a substantial year of film, series and game releases, but a broad annual slate is not the same as a complete U.S. October monthly schedule. More October titles and exact dates may be announced later.
Prime Video
Prime Video has the strongest firm October schedule in this early pass: Carrie on October 7 and The Terminal List Season 2 on October 21. The service also has October live sports, including scheduled Thursday Night Football and NWSL coverage.
Of the scripted titles, only Carrie currently has a confirmed all-at-once release pattern. The announcements for The Terminal List Season 2 do not yet say how its episodes will be distributed.
Disney+
The major confirmed scripted Disney+ premiere is VisionQuest on October 14. Disney+ will also carry The Banana Bowl live in the United States during October, although the event date has not been set in the cited announcement.
Disney+ regularly publishes monthly “Next On Disney+” listings, but a complete October 2026 entertainment list was not available in the official press material reviewed as of August 12. Do not mistake the two confirmed announcements for the service’s final monthly lineup.
HBO Max
No specific October 2026 movie or scripted-series premiere on HBO Max was sufficiently confirmed in the official material reviewed for this guide. That does not mean HBO Max has no October releases. The service has published a broader 2026 programming preview and continues to update its press materials, but a complete October monthly schedule remains unresolved in this research pass.

Peacock and other services
Peacock’s confirmed October highlight is Crystal Lake, premiering exclusively on October 15. Other services may add titles as their monthly announcements arrive, but an October release should not be treated as definitive until both the date and streaming service are officially confirmed.
How to read the October dates
- Set firm-date reminders for October 7, 14, 15 and 21. Those are the confirmed dates for Carrie, VisionQuest, Crystal Lake and The Terminal List Season 2.
- Keep October month-only titles flexible. Ranma1/2 Season 3 and The Ramparts of Ice Season 2 could land on any announced October date.
- Check your country before planning around Netflix’s October 9 release. A Day Like No Other is confirmed for Spain and Latin America, not broadly for the United States.
- Do not assume a premiere date means a complete season. Except for Carrie, the research does not establish whether the listed series will release weekly, in batches or all at once.
- Separate live events from on-demand entertainment. The Banana Bowl and Prime Video’s sports coverage depend on event schedules rather than the release-calendar model used for scripted shows.
What to watch first
For horror fans, start with Carrie on October 7 and follow it with Crystal Lake on October 15. Marvel viewers should mark October 14 for VisionQuest, especially if they have already watched WandaVision and Agatha All Along. Action fans have The Terminal List Season 2 on October 21, while anime viewers should watch Netflix for the exact dates of Ranma1/2 Season 3 and The Ramparts of Ice Season 2.
Expect this list to grow. The confirmed schedule available on August 12 is useful for early planning, but it should not be presented as the final October 2026 calendar until the services publish their monthly listings.
