What Samsung announced

Feature availability is not necessarily identical everywhere. Samsung notes that AI functions can vary by country, language, device, operating-system version, and mobile carrier. Some functions may also require a Samsung account, a Google account, an internet connection, or separate service availability. The launch presentation should therefore be treated as an overview of the platform, not a guarantee that every feature works in the same way on every S25 phone.
Camera and performance announcements
Samsung said the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy delivered claimed improvements of 40% in NPU performance, 37% in CPU performance, and 30% in GPU performance compared with the prior generation. Those figures are Samsung’s launch claims, not independent benchmark results.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra added a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. Samsung also highlighted features including:
- Audio Eraser for reducing unwanted sound in video.
- Virtual Aperture for additional control over the look of photographs.
- Galaxy Log for a more flexible video color workflow.
- 10-bit HDR recording for capturing a wider range of color and brightness information.
These announcements do not, by themselves, establish that the S25 has better battery life, camera quality, or real-world performance than competing phones. Those conclusions require independent testing.
Galaxy S25 U.S. preorder and release dates
For the United States, Samsung opened preorders on January 22, 2025, the same day as the event. Samsung listed Samsung.com, Amazon, Best Buy, and nationwide wireless carriers as preorder outlets.

Samsung also listed standard and online-exclusive color choices. Availability of particular colors and storage versions may depend on the retailer or region.
What happened to the preorder offers?
At launch, Samsung promoted limited-time incentives that could include Samsung Credit, eligible trade-in savings, and a discount on Samsung Care+. Those were launch-period offers and should not be treated as current promotions. Any present-day price, trade-in value, financing deal, or protection-plan discount needs to be checked separately with the retailer or carrier.

Cases and screen protectors are model-specific. A Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra do not share the same dimensions, so confirm the exact phone model before ordering an accessory. A Galaxy S25 case can be a sensible first purchase for anyone buying a new phone, particularly if the device will be carried without a bag or used outdoors. The same compatibility warning applies to a screen protector: a protector made for the standard S25 should not be assumed to fit the S25+ or S25 Ultra.

Samsung also referenced a 45W adapter in connection with the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s charging claims. The adapter is sold separately; it should not be assumed to be included with the phone. Check the exact charger specification and regional packaging before buying.
