In the U.S., IF is primarily a streaming and home-viewing title rather than a movie with regular theatrical showtimes. As of August 11, 2026, the Ryan Reynolds family film is listed on Netflix and Paramount+, with digital rental or purchase options through Amazon Video, Fandango At Home and the Apple TV Store. A 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD release is also available for viewers who want a permanent copy.
Where to watch IF in the U.S.
The quickest options are:
- Netflix: Check the U.S. Netflix catalog first if your household already subscribes.
- Paramount+: Current U.S. listings include the film on Paramount+ Essential and Paramount+ Premium, as well as certain integrated Paramount+ channel offerings.
- Digital rental or purchase: Look for IF on Amazon Video, Fandango At Home or the Apple TV Store.
- Physical media: The movie is available in 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD editions.
Availability, plan eligibility, price and video quality can change by country, account and date. Confirm the title in your own service or storefront before starting a subscription or completing a purchase.
Is IF on Netflix?
Yes. Current U.S. availability listings include IF on Netflix, including Netflix Standard with Ads. Netflix also has an official U.S. title page for the film.
Netflix catalog access is not necessarily the same in every country, and a title’s availability can change. If you already have Netflix, searching for IF in the app is the simplest way to confirm whether it is available on your account.

Is IF on Paramount+?
Yes. Current U.S. listings show IF on Paramount+ Essential and Paramount+ Premium. Paramount’s official streaming information previously identified July 9, 2024 as the date the film became available to Paramount+ subscribers.
If you do not have Netflix, watch IF on Paramount+ may be the most straightforward subscription route, provided the title and plan are shown as available in your location. Paramount+ availability is separate from simply having an Amazon Prime membership or a Roku device. A Paramount+ channel subscription purchased through an integrated platform may also be required.
Do not assume that every Paramount+ plan, channel bundle or promotional subscription will include the movie indefinitely. Check the plan details and the title page before subscribing.

Where to rent or buy IF digitally
For viewers who do not want another streaming subscription, current U.S. listings identify these transactional options:

| Apple TV Store | Digital rental or purchase | Current price, rental window and supported devices |
Amazon also has an official IF title page identifying the 2024 film and Ryan Reynolds in the cast. The existence of an Amazon Video listing does not by itself mean that the movie is included with Prime. Treat the listing as a digital rental or purchase unless your account specifically says it is included with your subscription or an eligible channel.
Prices, rental periods, promotional discounts and HD or 4K availability fluctuate. Because of that, it is better to check the retailer at checkout than to rely on a fixed price quoted in an older article.

Can you still see IF in theaters?
Do not expect ordinary nationwide theater showtimes for IF in the U.S. The film’s original release was in May 2024: Paramount lists May 16, 2024 as the film date, while wider release reporting identifies May 17, 2024 as the U.S. theatrical opening. More than two years later, current availability checks list home-viewing options rather than a normal theatrical run.
A local theater could still arrange an occasional revival, school screening, library event or other special showing. Those screenings are exceptions, not a reliable nationwide schedule. If you want to check, search the movie title on a local theater-ticketing site and contact the venue directly when a listing appears. Do not assume that old 2024 showtimes are current.

The most specific shopping search is IF 4K UHD Blu-ray. It distinguishes the movie from unrelated products and is useful for viewers with a compatible 4K player and television. If you do not need 4K, search for an IF Blu-ray DVD edition instead.
Stock, seller, delivery options and prices can change, particularly for older releases. Confirm the format and region compatibility before ordering. A 4K UHD package may include a standard Blu-ray, but the contents vary by edition, so check the product description.
Which way should you watch it?
- Already have Netflix? Search there first; it may be the simplest subscription option in the U.S.
- Already have Paramount+? Search the Paramount+ catalog and verify that your plan includes the title.
- Only want one viewing? Compare the current rental prices on Amazon Video, Fandango At Home and Apple TV Store.
- Plan to rewatch it or avoid streaming changes? Consider the 4K UHD, Blu-ray or DVD release.
- Looking for a theater experience? Check local listings only for a possible revival or special event; regular showtimes are not expected.
What is IF about?
IF is a 2024 Paramount Pictures family comedy-drama written and directed by John Krasinski. Cailey Fleming plays a girl who discovers that she can see other people’s imaginary friends. With help from a character played by Ryan Reynolds, she tries to reunite those imaginary friends—often called “IFs”—with their former children.

Paramount lists the film as PG with an approximate running time of 103 minutes. The family-oriented premise does not mean every child will find the story emotionally light; parents may want to consider the film’s themes of childhood, loss, memory and growing up.

Important availability notes
- It is not universally free to stream. Subscription access depends on the service, plan, country and current catalog rights.
- Netflix and Paramount+ are different options. Having one does not automatically provide access to the other.
- Prime membership alone may not include the film. Amazon Video can offer the title as a separate rental or purchase, or through a channel.
- Integrated channels require care. A Paramount+ listing inside Amazon or Roku may require that specific channel subscription.
- Prices are temporary. Verify the current rental, purchase and disc price before paying.
- Location matters. The options above describe current U.S. listings and should not be treated as a worldwide availability guide.
