The actual kickoff took place at approximately 6:41 p.m. ET, according to the NFL’s official game summary. FOX carried the game nationally in English, while Tubi provided a free English-language stream in the United States during the live event.
Because Super Bowl LIX has already taken place, its Tubi livestream is no longer available. The free viewing methods below describe the options that were available for the 2025 game.
Super Bowl LIX kickoff time by time zone
The published kickoff time was 6:30 p.m. ET. That translated to the following local times:
| Time zone | Scheduled kickoff | Approximate actual kickoff |
|---|---|---|
| Eastern | 6:30 p.m. ET | About 6:41 p.m. ET |
| Central | 5:30 p.m. CT | 5:41 p.m. CT |
| Mountain | 4:30 p.m. MT | 4:41 p.m. MT |
| Pacific | 3:30 p.m. PT | 3:41 p.m. PT |
The game was played at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Since New Orleans is in the Central Time Zone, the NFL summary recorded the actual start as 5:41 p.m. CST. That is why some listings may appear to differ from the official 6:30 p.m. ET schedule: one is the planned kickoff, while the other records when play actually began.

How the game was broadcast
FOX carried the national English-language television broadcast. In the United States, viewers could watch through a local FOX affiliate, stream the FOX broadcast free through Tubi during the live event, or use a paid live-TV streaming service that carried their local FOX station.
Free option 1: Watch the local FOX station with an antenna
Viewers within range of a local FOX affiliate could watch Super Bowl LIX free over the air with an indoor HDTV antenna or an outdoor antenna. This required no cable, satellite, or live-TV streaming subscription after purchasing the equipment.
Reception was not guaranteed. It depended on the viewer’s location, the distance from the FOX transmitter, terrain, apartment or house construction, interference, and antenna placement. A viewer should check whether FOX reception was available at their address before relying on this option. An antenna could receive the local broadcast only if a FOX station’s signal reached the home; it was not a substitute for a nationwide streaming service.
Free option 2: Stream the game on Tubi
Tubi offered a free simulcast of FOX’s Super Bowl LIX broadcast. The service was ad-supported, and viewers needed to create or use a free Tubi account, but Tubi did not require a paid subscription or credit card for the event stream.
Tubi supported viewing through its website and through apps or compatible software on Android and iOS, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Xbox, Comcast devices, Google TV, Samsung televisions, Vizio televisions, and compatible LG televisions. The exact app experience depended on the device and its software version.
For a television without a compatible Tubi app, an optional Roku streaming device could have provided access if the television had a suitable HDMI input and the device was supported. However, buying a streaming device was not necessary for viewers whose television, phone, computer, or existing media player already supported Tubi.
The Tubi Super Bowl stream was listed as English-language only. Tubi’s event information also described the stream as intended for live viewing rather than as a permanent replay. After the game ended, Tubi marked the Super Bowl LIX event as ended, so it should not be presented as a current way to watch the game.

Why did Tubi list 6:00 p.m. ET?
Tubi’s event schedule listed the Super Bowl at 6:00 p.m. ET, while NFL and FOX viewing information listed the scheduled kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET. The most useful interpretation is that Tubi’s 6:00 p.m. listing referred to the event or programming window, not the game’s official kickoff. The actual game began at approximately 6:41 p.m. ET.
Paid streaming services that carried FOX
FOX’s 2025 viewing information identified YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and FuboTV as paid live-TV streaming services carrying the game. These were alternatives for viewers who wanted a live-TV package with FOX, but they were not inherently free options.
A provider might have offered a trial or promotion to some customers at a particular time. Such offers were not universal: eligibility, pricing, local FOX availability, and promotional dates varied by service and location. A viewer considering one of these services needed to verify all of those details directly before signing up. It would be inaccurate to describe any of them as a guaranteed free way to watch Super Bowl LIX.
Spanish-language viewing
Spanish-language presentations were announced for FOX Deportes and Telemundo. Tubi’s Super Bowl help information stated that its stream was English-only and directed Spanish-language viewers toward FOX Deportes or Telemundo.

Access to those channels depended on the viewer’s television package, streaming subscription, and local distribution. Having access to FOX or Tubi did not automatically provide the Spanish-language broadcast.
What viewers needed for each option
| Method | Cost at the time | What was required | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local FOX over the air | No recurring subscription; antenna hardware may cost money | Compatible antenna and a receivable local FOX signal | Reception varied by address and antenna placement |
| Tubi | Free | Free Tubi account and compatible internet-connected device | English-only live stream; event stream ended after the game |
| YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, or FuboTV | Paid service | Subscription with local FOX availability | Prices, trials, and channel lineups varied |
| FOX Deportes or Telemundo | Dependent on package | Television or streaming package carrying the relevant channel | Availability varied by location and provider |
The simplest answer
For the 2025 game, the easiest free streaming route in the United States was Tubi: create a free account, use a supported device, and watch the English-language simulcast while it was live. The simplest free television route was a local FOX station received with an antenna, provided the viewer’s home had adequate reception.
Neither route remains a live way to watch Super Bowl LIX now. Tubi’s event was temporary, and an antenna can receive current local broadcasts but cannot recreate a past live event. Viewers looking for the completed game now would need to look for an authorized replay or highlights offering rather than the former live Tubi stream.

Was Super Bowl LIX free to watch on Tubi?
Yes. Tubi offered a free, ad-supported simulcast of the FOX broadcast in the United States. A free Tubi account was required, but no paid subscription or credit card was required. The stream was English-only and was available for live viewing during the event, not as a permanent replay.
Could I watch Super Bowl LIX free with an antenna?
Yes, if a local FOX affiliate’s signal reached your home. An indoor or outdoor HDTV antenna could receive the over-the-air broadcast without a recurring television subscription, but reception depended on location, signal strength, building materials, and antenna placement.
Why did some listings say 6:00 p.m. ET instead of 6:30 p.m. ET?
Tubi listed a 6:00 p.m. ET event or programming start, while the NFL and FOX listed 6:30 p.m. ET as the scheduled kickoff. The game itself began at approximately 6:41 p.m. ET.
Was the Tubi stream available in Spanish?
No. Tubi’s Super Bowl LIX information described its live stream as English-only. Spanish-language coverage was associated with FOX Deportes and Telemundo, subject to the viewer’s television or streaming package and local availability.
The Bottom Line
Super Bowl LIX was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET, with actual kickoff at about 6:41 p.m. ET. FOX broadcast the game, Tubi offered the free U.S. English-language stream during the live event, and an antenna could receive a local FOX station where reception was available. Because the game has ended, the Tubi livestream is no longer active.
