Where could viewers watch the 2025 Oscars?
United States
- ABC: The ceremony was televised live on ABC. Viewers with a local ABC affiliate could watch over the air or through a participating television provider.
- Hulu: Hulu streamed the ceremony live in the United States, marking the first time the Oscars had been offered through Hulu’s live-streaming arrangement.
- Other live-TV services: Services carrying a viewer’s local ABC affiliate could also have provided access, but availability depended on ZIP code, market, subscription and local-channel agreements.
ABC’s digital platforms generally required viewers to authenticate with a participating television provider. Availability, account requirements and Hulu’s current catalog or live-TV terms can change, so the original 2025 broadcast options should not be presented as a current live-watch option in 2026.
Outside the United States
The Academy said the broadcast was available through local outlets in more than 200 territories. However, the broadcaster, start time and streaming platform varied by country. International viewers should check their local television listings or the Academy’s regional broadcast information rather than assuming that ABC or Hulu was available everywhere.
Who hosted the 2025 Oscars?
Conan O’Brien hosted the 97th Oscars. It was his first time hosting the Academy Awards broadcast. Raj Kapoor served as executive producer and showrunner, with Katy Mullan also serving as executive producer.

Brown, Willem Dafoe, Ana de Armas, Lily-Rose Depp, Selena Gomez, Goldie Hawn, Connie Nielsen, Ben Stiller and Oprah Winfrey.

Why was the 2025 Oscars schedule changed?
The awards-season calendar was affected by the Los Angeles-area fires. In January 2025, the Academy announced updates to the 97th Oscars schedule, including changes to parts of the voting and eligibility timetable. The final ceremony date nevertheless remained March 2, 2025.

Who was eligible for the 2025 Oscars?
The 97th Academy Awards honored films released in 2024. The Best Picture field shows the range of the year’s competition, from documentary and international cinema to large-scale genre filmmaking and prestige drama. The Academy’s eligibility process and calendar were revised during the season because of the Los Angeles fires, but those changes did not turn the 2025 ceremony into a 2026 event: it remained the awards presentation for 2024 films.
Was the 2025 Oscars ceremony available worldwide?
The Academy said the broadcast reached more than 200 territories through local broadcast outlets. That does not mean every territory received the same channel, platform or time. For a current viewer, the practical answer is to use local listings for archived coverage and to check territory-specific services for the individual nominated films.
