How to download Crunchyroll episodes on Android
- Install or update the official Crunchyroll app from Google Play.
- Open Crunchyroll and sign in to the account with an eligible membership.
- Open the series, season, or movie you want to save.
- Tap the Download icon beside an eligible episode. If the series offers it, tap Download All to save the available episodes in the season.
- Wait for the download to finish. For large files, keep the app connected to a stable network and avoid filling the device’s remaining storage.

- Press the X button.

Switch storage: original Switch models versus Switch 2
On the original Nintendo Switch family—including Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED—downloads use the console’s internal storage unless a microSD card is inserted. With a card installed, downloads go to the card. Nintendo documents support for microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC cards, with capacities supported up to 2 TB on that Switch family.

A Nintendo Switch microSD card can therefore be a practical optional upgrade for people saving multiple Crunchyroll episodes or seasons. It does not make downloads permanent, remove expiration timers, bypass regional licensing, or turn the episodes into exportable video files.
Nintendo Switch 2 is different: it uses microSD Express cards rather than the standard microSD formats used by the original Switch family. Check your exact console model before buying storage. Do not assume that an ordinary Switch microSD card is the correct accessory for Switch 2.

You can change the default download quality in the app’s account or download settings. If a season is taking too much space or repeatedly fails, Medium is a sensible first adjustment; Low is useful when storage or bandwidth is especially limited.
Should you use Wi-Fi or mobile data?
Wi-Fi is the safer choice for downloading episodes because video files can be large. Crunchyroll includes a setting that allows or blocks downloads over cellular data. Leave cellular downloading blocked unless you deliberately want to use it and have enough data allowance.
For a long flight or trip, download while connected to reliable Wi-Fi, then open the Downloads area and confirm that the episodes are complete before leaving. A partially completed download is not a dependable offline copy.

An expired episode must be downloaded again while you have an internet connection, provided the title and account are still eligible. There is no supported way to recover an expired download as a normal video file.
Offline downloads are licensed access, not purchased copies. They are intended for viewing inside the authorized Crunchyroll app, on authorized devices, during an active subscription and within any required verification window. If the subscription ends, or if the app requires verification and cannot complete it, downloaded content may stop being available.

What to do when a Crunchyroll download fails
