ESPN’s full direct-to-consumer streaming service launched on August 21, 2025. As of August 12, 2026, U.S. viewers can choose ESPN Select for ESPN+ programming at $12.99 per month or $129.99 per year, or ESPN Unlimited for $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year. Unlimited is the plan for ESPN’s broad network lineup; Select is the lower-cost choice for ESPN+ content, including ESPN Films, originals, and selected live sports.
At a glance: ESPN Select vs. ESPN Unlimited
ESPN’s full direct-to-consumer service is delivered through the enhanced ESPN App. The launch did not replace ESPN+ with one identical product; instead, ESPN now separates its direct subscription into a lower-cost ESPN+ tier and a broader plan that includes ESPN’s network services.
| Plan | Price | What it includes | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ESPN Select | $12.99 per month or $129.99 per year | ESPN+ programming, including selected soccer, PGA TOUR coverage, NHL content, college sports, combat sports, ESPN Films, originals, and on-demand programming | Viewers primarily interested in ESPN+ content, documentaries, originals, and selected live sports |
| ESPN Unlimited | $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year | ESPN Select content plus ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNNEWS, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN+, ESPN on ABC, SECN+, and ACCNX | Viewers who want the broadest ESPN network and service access |
Both plans include advertising during live events and studio programming. ESPN Unlimited is the plan to choose if you expect to watch ESPN’s main network channels, conference networks, and the widest range of live programming. Select is the less expensive option, but it is not a replacement for the full ESPN network lineup.
Prices above are the documented U.S. prices as of August 12, 2026. Promotions, bundle rates, taxes, eligibility rules, and sports-rights arrangements can change, so check the live purchase page before subscribing.

When did ESPN’s streaming service launch?
ESPN’s full direct-to-consumer streaming service launched on August 21, 2025. It arrived as part of an enhanced ESPN App designed to bring ESPN’s networks and services directly to consumers rather than requiring a traditional pay-TV package for the broadest access.
The updated app also emphasized features beyond basic video playback, including personalized SportsCenter experiences, statistics, betting information, fantasy tools, commerce features, and multiview. Availability of individual features can depend on the subscription plan, device, account authentication, language, and location.
ESPN+ itself was not simply discontinued. Existing ESPN+ subscribers were transitioned to ESPN Select while retaining access to ESPN+ content.
What is included with ESPN Select?
ESPN Select is the direct-to-consumer ESPN+ tier. It is aimed at viewers who want ESPN’s streaming library and selected live sports but do not need the complete collection of ESPN linear networks.
Programming associated with Select includes top-tier soccer, PGA TOUR coverage, NHL content, college sports, combat sports, ESPN Films, ESPN originals, and on-demand material. For DocumentaryTube readers, ESPN Films and the service’s original and on-demand programming may be the strongest reason to choose Select.
Select does not provide the same access as ESPN Unlimited to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNNEWS, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN on ABC, SECN+, and ACCNX. If a particular event is advertised on one of those services, Select alone should not be assumed to unlock it.

What is included with ESPN Unlimited?
ESPN Unlimited includes the Select/ESPN+ library along with ESPN’s broader network-and-service lineup. ESPN lists these included services:
- ESPN
- ESPN2
- ESPNU
- ESPNNEWS
- ESPN Deportes
- SEC Network
- ACC Network
- ESPN+
- ESPN on ABC
- SECN+
- ACCNX
That makes Unlimited the relevant plan for viewers following major professional sports, college sports, conference networks, ESPN studio shows, and ESPN+ programming from one subscription. It is still not a guarantee of access to every sporting event. Regional rights, blackouts, league-specific restrictions, provider authentication, and app or location rules can affect individual games and events.
Where is ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service available?
The clearest current eligibility information applies to the United States and certain U.S. territories. ESPN and Disney’s support documentation say eligible purchasers must meet the applicable age requirement and reside in an eligible U.S. location.
The U.S. ESPN Unlimited product should not be treated as a worldwide service. ESPN’s content rights, apps, prices, bundles, and availability vary by country. An ESPN product offered in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, or another market may not include the same networks or events as the U.S. plans.
Sports products can also have narrower geographic limits. MLB.TV on ESPN, for example, remains subject to U.S.-market restrictions and blackout rules. It should not be described as universal access to every MLB game.
How to watch ESPN

Supported viewing routes
- Phones and tablets: Use the ESPN App on a supported mobile device.
- Computer: Sign in at ESPN.com through a supported web browser.
- Apple TV: Install and open the ESPN App, then sign in.
- Roku: Add the ESPN App on a compatible Roku device.
- LG televisions: Use the ESPN App where it is available for the particular TV model and region.
- Fire TV Stick: Install the ESPN App on a compatible Amazon Fire TV device.
Exact app support can vary by device model, operating system, language, and country. If a television is too old to run the app, a compatible streaming player may be simpler than replacing the TV.
Do I need a cable or satellite subscription?
A direct ESPN subscription is intended to provide access without requiring a traditional pay-TV package for the included services. However, some viewers may reach ESPN programming through an existing TV-provider entitlement, and particular content can still require authentication or be subject to rights restrictions. Follow the sign-in option shown in the ESPN App for the subscription or provider access you actually have.
How many devices can stream at once?
ESPN’s current support information says most subscription content can be streamed simultaneously on up to three devices. Limits can vary by content and applicable plan rules, so three simultaneous streams should not be treated as a guarantee for every event.
What device should you use to watch ESPN on a TV?
If your television does not already support the ESPN App, an Amazon Fire TV Stick HD can provide a straightforward way to add a compatible streaming interface. ESPN identifies Fire TV Stick among its supported living-room devices.
The device does not include ESPN access. You still need a valid ESPN Select or ESPN Unlimited subscription, or another eligible ESPN entitlement, and the exact app experience depends on device and regional support. A Fire TV Stick is optional; Apple TV, Roku, compatible LG TVs, and other supported devices may also work.
ESPN bundle options
Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN
The main entertainment bundle combines Disney+, Hulu, and either ESPN Select or ESPN Unlimited. The choice matters: a bundle containing Select provides the ESPN+ tier, while a bundle containing Unlimited provides the broader ESPN network-and-service lineup.
The services generally remain available through their individual apps. Buying the bundle does not create one universal app containing every Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN title. Some ESPN or Hulu content may be surfaced in another app depending on the subscription and content type, but subscribers should expect to activate and use the relevant services separately.

ESPN Unlimited and FOX One
ESPN documents an ESPN Unlimited and FOX One bundle for $39.99 per month. The products remain separate services accessed through their respective apps. ESPN says this bundle is currently purchased through the ESPN or FOX websites rather than through Disney+ or Hulu.
Because sports rights and commercial terms can change, verify the price, included services, billing arrangement, and current availability at the time of purchase.
NFL+ Premium
Disney and ESPN have also documented an ESPN-related NFL+ Premium bundle path that includes NFL RedZone and other NFL+ benefits. This may be particularly relevant during football season, but the exact price, terms, eligibility, and included features should be rechecked before subscribing.
MLB.TV
MLB.TV is identified in ESPN’s commercial and support materials as an ESPN-related offering. It is not a promise that every baseball game will be available in every location. U.S. market restrictions and local blackout rules can apply, so check the game-specific availability for your location.

ESPN and WWE announced an agreement under which WWE premium live events, including WrestleMania and other major events, would become part of ESPN’s U.S. direct-to-consumer offering beginning in 2026. Since the agreement is schedule- and rights-sensitive, confirm the current event calendar and whether a particular event is included in your plan before relying on it as a reason to subscribe.

Check these details before subscribing
- Choose the right tier: Select is the ESPN+ tier; Unlimited is the broad network-and-service plan.
- Check the price date: Compare monthly, annual, promotional, and renewal pricing rather than relying on an old introductory offer.
- Confirm your location: U.S. eligibility does not establish availability in other countries or territories.
- Check the event: A plan can include a network without guaranteeing every event because of blackouts and rights restrictions.
- Check the apps: Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN may require separate apps and activation steps.
- Check your device: Confirm that your TV, streaming player, operating system, or browser supports the current ESPN App.
- Check simultaneous use: Most subscription content supports up to three simultaneous streams, but content-specific rules may differ.
- Check football, baseball, and WWE terms separately: NFL+, MLB.TV, and WWE-related offerings can have distinct seasonal, geographic, and rights conditions.
Windows playback troubleshooting: what to try first
If ESPN works on another device but fails on a Windows PC, begin with the ordinary causes: check the ESPN service status, sign out and back in, update the browser, disable problematic extensions, restart the router and computer, test another browser, and confirm that the problem is not a blackout or account-entitlement issue.
For a problem that appears specifically related to Windows hardware drivers—such as display, audio, or network-adapter behavior—check the computer or component manufacturer’s driver tools first. Outbyte Driver Updater is an optional third-party utility that says it can scan Windows devices for outdated, corrupted, or missing drivers and recommend updates from official sources.
Outbyte is not an ESPN service and is not a guaranteed solution for buffering, blackouts, login failures, subscription errors, browser problems, or network congestion. Do not install driver software before checking the service, account, browser, and network basics, and create an appropriate restore or recovery point before making broad driver changes.

What StreamNeo does—and why it is not an ESPN alternative
StreamNeo should not be used or recommended as a way to watch ESPN. Its service is described as a cloud tool that loops a user’s own prerecorded video into a continuous YouTube live stream with automatic recovery. It does not provide access to ESPN programming, bypass ESPN restrictions, or mirror ESPN’s service.
That kind of tool could be relevant to a separate creator-focused article about continuously broadcasting original sports commentary or fan-produced video to YouTube, provided the creator owns or has permission to use the material. It has no useful role in choosing an ESPN viewing subscription.

No. A Fire TV Stick provides hardware for running the ESPN App, but it does not include an ESPN subscription. You still need ESPN Select, ESPN Unlimited, or another eligible entitlement.
Does ESPN Unlimited include every live sports event?
Not necessarily. ESPN access can be affected by regional rights, local blackouts, provider authentication, content-specific restrictions, and location. MLB.TV, for example, has U.S. market restrictions and blackout rules.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: ESPN’s full direct-to-consumer service launched on August 21, 2025. Choose ESPN Select at $12.99 per month or $129.99 per year for ESPN+ programming, including ESPN Films and originals. Choose ESPN Unlimited at $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year for the broad ESPN network lineup as well as ESPN+. Both plans contain advertising, and neither removes event-specific blackouts or geographic restrictions. Confirm the current U.S. price, event availability, app support, and bundle terms before paying.
