Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won nine awards after receiving 13 nominations. That is the highest number of wins by a single game in The Game Awards’ history. Its haul covered the ceremony’s headline honor as well as direction, writing, visual design, music, acting, independent development, debut development, and role-playing.
The result also carries two historical distinctions: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was identified as the first debut game and the first French-developed game to win Game of the Year.
