In the U.S., you can watch The Studio on Apple TV through the Apple TV app or at tv.apple.com. You do not need an Apple TV 4K box: the app works on many smart TVs, streaming devices, game consoles, Apple devices, and computers. Apple lists a seven-day free trial followed by $12.99 per month in the U.S., although subscription prices and promotional terms can change.
Where to stream The Studio
The Studio is an Apple Original, so its official home is Apple TV. U.S. viewers can watch through the Apple TV app on a compatible device or sign in at tv.apple.com in a web browser.
“Apple TV” can mean both Apple’s streaming service and the app used to access it. It does not mean that you must own Apple’s separate Apple TV 4K streaming box. If you already have a compatible television, streaming stick, phone, tablet, computer, or game console, check for the Apple TV app before buying anything.
How much does Apple TV cost?
Apple’s U.S. listing gives viewers a seven-day free trial followed by $12.99 per month. That price and the trial offer are time-sensitive, so confirm the current amount and eligibility on Apple’s signup screen before subscribing. A trial may also be unavailable if the account has previously used a qualifying Apple TV offer.

Do you need an Apple TV 4K box?
No. Apple TV 4K is optional hardware, not a requirement for watching The Studio. Apple makes the Apple TV app available on supported Apple devices, smart televisions, Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and other platforms. You can also watch through the web at tv.apple.com.
An Apple TV 4K can make sense if you want a dedicated Apple interface for your living-room television, 4K HDR playback, or integration with a home-theater setup. But buying the box solely to access this series is unnecessary if the Apple TV app is already available on your current equipment.
Before buying new hardware
- Open your television’s or streaming device’s app store.
- Search for “Apple TV.”
- Install or open the Apple TV app if your device supports it.
- Sign in with an Apple Account, choose the available subscription option, and search for The Studio.
If you do purchase an Apple TV 4K, you will need a television with an available HDMI input. For 4K HDR playback, Apple’s setup guidance calls for an HDMI 2.0 or later connection; an HDMI 2.0 cable may therefore be relevant if you do not already have a suitable cable. That accessory is part of setting up the hardware, not part of the streaming subscription.

The Studio is a TV-MA workplace comedy about the fictional Continental Studios, a struggling movie company trying to keep theatrical films important in an industry under pressure from corporate demands, changing audience habits, and competing entertainment models.
Seth Rogen plays Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of the studio. Matt and his executive team must navigate creative disagreements, celebrity relationships, casting, marketing, awards campaigns, corporate expectations, and the commercial risks of making movies for theaters. Their public image is polished, but routine Hollywood situations can quickly become professional disasters.

The show works as both a Hollywood satire and an insider workplace comedy. Its central question is not simply whether a film gets made. It is whether executives can defend artistic credibility and the theatrical business while satisfying investors, corporate owners, stars, directors, and audiences.
Cast and creative team
The principal cast includes:

Why is The Studio called an Emmy-winning comedy?
The Studio won Outstanding Comedy Series at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2025. Seth Rogen won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for playing Matt Remick, and Ike Barinholtz won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for playing Sal Saperstein.
The Television Academy record also lists wins in several craft categories, including directing, contemporary costumes, production design, casting, and cinematography. That does not mean the show won every major Emmy category; it received a mixture of wins and nominations. The accurate short description is that The Studio is a 2025 Emmy-winning comedy series, specifically because it won Outstanding Comedy Series at that ceremony.
