What is Freakier Friday about?
The sequel is set 22 years after Tess and Anna first experienced their body swap. Anna is no longer a teenager: she is a mother, a professional manager, and a woman preparing to marry Eric. Her daughter Harper and Eric’s daughter Lily, however, are struggling to accept the prospect of becoming stepsisters.
When the family visits Madame Jen, another supernatural identity crisis begins. This time, the swap involves four people:
- Tess swaps with Lily.
- Anna swaps with Harper.
That creates a more complicated version of the original premise. Instead of one mother and one daughter being forced to experience each other’s lives, the sequel creates a multigenerational chain involving a grandmother, a mother, and two teenagers from a blended family.
