The month’s most notable arrivals included The Family McMullen, It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley, Wizkid: Long Live Lagos, Sarah Squirm: Live + In the Flesh, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, One Battle After Another, and Ne Zha II.
This is the announced United States schedule for December 2025. Because the month has passed, the list should be read as a record of announced additions—not a guarantee that every title is still streaming. The biggest HBO Max additions from December 2025
December’s slate had three distinct parts: a substantial movie and television-library refresh on December 1, a concentration of HBO documentaries and comedy specials in the first half of the month, and feature-film arrivals clustered around the holiday period.
The Family McMullen — December 5
Edward Burns wrote, directed, produced, and stars in this follow-up to The Brothers McMullen. Connie Britton and Tracee Ellis Ross are also credited in the announcement. The film was billed as an HBO Max exclusive streaming debut, making it one of the month’s most prominent original movie arrivals.

It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley — December 4
This HBO documentary examines musician Jeff Buckley and the continuing influence of his album Grace. It was one of December’s key music-documentary premieres.
Wizkid: Long Live Lagos — December 11
The HBO documentary focuses on Nigerian musician Wizkid and Lagos, giving the month’s documentary lineup an international music and cultural perspective.
Sarah Squirm: Live + In the Flesh — December 12

Streaming versus owning: The One Battle After Another 4K Blu-ray is a separate physical-media option for viewers who want to own the film. Check the edition, release status, region, price, and stock before purchasing; a disc release does not provide HBO Max access.
Ne Zha II — December 24
The A24 animated feature was listed for HBO Max on Christmas Eve. Its arrival followed the December 1 addition of Ne Zha, giving viewers the opportunity to pair the sequel with the earlier film if both remained available in their market.

How to interpret the HBO Max schedule
This calendar reflects the U.S. HBO Max announcement and a separate TV Guide reproduction of the dated list. “Coming” described the original pre-December announcement; after the month ended, “arrived” is the more accurate wording. Titles may have been delayed, removed, relocated within the service, or made unavailable outside the United States.
HBO Max can also be accessed through Amazon Prime Video Channels where that subscription route is available, but current pricing, eligibility, and billing terms should be checked at signup. Subscribing through Prime Video is an access method—not a claim that an Amazon physical-media purchase includes HBO Max.
