“Training Day” was not the title of Dua Lipa’s 2024 Grammys song—it was “Training Season.” Lipa opened the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on February 4, 2024, with a high-energy three-song medley that moved from the then-unreleased “Training Season” into “Dance the Night” and “Houdini.”
The official performance is titled Dua Lipa – Training Season / Houdini (Live at The GRAMMYs 2024) and is available through Dua Lipa’s official YouTube channel. The Recording Academy also published a collection of performance videos from the ceremony.

What Dua Lipa performed at the 2024 Grammys
Dua Lipa was the opening performer at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
The most accurate description of the set is a three-song opening medley:

- “Training Season” opened the performance. The song had not yet been officially released.
- “Dance the Night”, Lipa’s song from Barbie, appeared as a brief connecting section.
- “Houdini” closed the main sequence.
The Recording Academy’s post-show summary foregrounded “Training Season” and “Houdini,” which is why some official listings use those two titles even though the televised performance also included “Dance the Night.”
Where to watch the performance
The best current starting point is Dua Lipa’s official YouTube upload, titled Dua Lipa – Training Season / Houdini (Live at The GRAMMYs 2024). Searching that exact title on the official Dua Lipa channel should distinguish the performance from fan edits, short clips, and unrelated live versions.
The Recording Academy also has a 2024 Grammys performance-video page that includes Dua Lipa’s opening number. The original ceremony aired on CBS and was available live and on demand through Paramount+ in the United States, but that was the distribution arrangement in February 2024—not a guarantee that the full ceremony remains available there in 2026. Platform catalogs and regional access can change.

How the medley was staged
The performance was built around a large metal scaffold structure. Contemporary descriptions compared the construction to a jungle gym, and Lipa performed “Houdini” while moving across and through it. The structure gave the opening number a strong physical centerpiece without turning the performance into a retrospective of her earlier hits.
It also created a clear visual transition into the new album era: Lipa began by introducing “Training Season,” passed through the familiar Barbie song “Dance the Night,” and ended with “Houdini,” the first single associated with her forthcoming third studio album.
Why “Training Season” mattered at the Grammys
“Training Season” was scheduled for official release on February 15, 2024. Performing it at the Grammys gave Lipa a major television audience for the song before listeners could hear the studio single in full.
That made the appearance more than a standard awards-show performance. It was an early public introduction to a new phase of Lipa’s career. “Houdini” had already launched the album campaign as the first single, while “Training Season” served as the second step in the rollout.
The album was eventually announced as Radical Optimism. The two songs are part of that album’s tracklist, placing the Grammys appearance near the beginning of the Radical Optimism era rather than treating it as a one-off performance.

Dua Lipa’s Grammy context in 2024
Lipa entered the 2024 ceremony as a three-time Grammy winner and a nominee for “Dance the Night.” The song received nominations for Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media.
That combination of recent success, a high-profile Barbie song, and a new album campaign helps explain why she was selected to open the telecast. The performance could acknowledge a familiar hit while giving viewers their first major look at “Training Season.”
If you want the album rather than the live performance
There is no evidence that this Grammys appearance was released as a standalone DVD, Blu-ray, CD, vinyl record, concert film, or official Grammy performance album. The relevant physical release is the studio album, not a recording of the awards-show set.
For listeners who want the two songs in physical form, Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism vinyl includes “Houdini” and “Training Season.” The official artist store has listed several physical editions, including standard and alternate-cover vinyl, a picture disc, a lenticular CD, and a cassette. Availability, formats, and prices may vary, so check the listing carefully before ordering.
“Training Day” or “Training Season”?
The song performed by Dua Lipa at the 2024 Grammys is officially called “Training Season.” “Training Day” is a mistaken version of the title. The Recording Academy, Warner Music, and Dua Lipa’s official performance upload all use “Training Season.”
