Netflix added the existing One Piece television anime’s Dressrosa and Silver Mine material on February 1, 2025. This was a catalog addition—not a new Netflix-produced season, a remake, or the live-action series continuing into Dressrosa.
The story is part of Toei Animation’s long-running Japanese anime and is commonly associated with episodes 629–746. Availability, episode groupings, and even the number assigned to the “season” can vary by country, so viewers should check their local Netflix listing before starting.
What Netflix actually premiered
The headline can be misleading. Netflix did not create a new “Dressrosa season” of One Piece. Rather, the service added the existing anime episodes covering the Dressrosa storyline and the subsequent Silver Mine arc to its catalog on February 1, 2025, according to catalog-tracking references.
Some listings label the material as Netflix “Season 25,” but that numbering is a platform catalog convention, not evidence that Netflix produced a new season. Beneath the country’s colorful surface is an authoritarian regime built on fear, deception, forced labor, and the suppression of the truth about the former royal family. The conflict gradually expands from a covert operation against a factory into a rebellion to liberate the entire country.
The Corrida Colosseum
One of the arc’s most recognizable locations is the Corrida Colosseum, where fighters compete for the Flame-Flame Fruit—the Devil Fruit formerly associated with Luffy’s brother Ace. Luffy enters the tournament under the alias “Lucy.”
The tournament is more than a side story. It introduces major fighters, former enemies, political figures, and allies whose personal histories become important to the wider battle. It also gives the arc one of its largest collections of distinctive combatants and competing motivations.
Doflamingo’s rule and Dressrosa’s buried history
The central question is not simply whether Luffy can defeat another powerful opponent. Dressrosa’s crisis is rooted in the kingdom’s history: the relationship between the Donquixote and Riku dynasties, Doflamingo’s seizure of power, and the way the regime manipulated the population’s memory of what happened.

Rebecca, the gladiators, the dwarves of the Tontatta Kingdom, former royal allies, and ordinary citizens all become part of the resistance. The Straw Hats and Law are therefore fighting alongside a much broader liberation movement. Their objective is to expose Doflamingo’s control, stop the SMILE production operation, and restore the country’s ability to choose its own future.
How many episodes are in Dressrosa?

For viewers accustomed to shorter streaming seasons, the length is the main practical consideration. The story contains several simultaneous battles, flashbacks, tournament matches, rescues, political revelations, and shifts between groups of characters. Netflix says THE ONE PIECE will begin with approximately the first 50 manga chapters in its first season. The project is scheduled to premiere in February 2027, with seven episodes released at once. That release is a new starting point—not a Dressrosa remake or a continuation of the current anime.
Where does Dressrosa begin in the manga?
The Dressrosa storyline begins around manga volume 71. VIZ’s synopsis for that volume introduces the Straw Hats and Law arriving in Dressrosa, their plan to destroy Doflamingo’s SMILE production operation, the search for the missing samurai Kanjuro, and the Corrida Colosseum tournament for the Flame-Flame Fruit.

- One Piece, Vol. 71: The focused starting point for the Dressrosa adventure. It is the sensible choice for readers who want to begin with the arc without buying material from later storylines.
- One Piece Box Set 4: Dressrosa to Reverie: A larger collection containing volumes 71–90. The most relevant collectible tied specifically to this arc is Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America’s Monkey D. Luffy Dressrosa Anime Heroes action figure. Bandai lists it as a 6.5-inch figure with interchangeable hands, character-specific accessories, and articulated points; the listed MSRP is $23.99. Amazon availability, seller information, and current pricing should be checked before purchase.
LEGO also sells One Piece products, including The Baratie Floating Restaurant and additional sets connected to the Netflix live-action universe and its Season 2 setting. Those are franchise merchandise rather than Dressrosa-specific products, so they are a better fit for general One Piece gifts than for a Dressrosa collection.
How to watch without getting the wrong version
- Open the Netflix title page for the anime. Confirm that the listing is the animated series, not the live-action program.
- Check the season and episode menu. Netflix’s season numbering can differ from other One Piece guides, so use the arc description or episode numbers when available.
- Look for the Dressrosa material around episodes 629–746. The exact grouping and presentation may vary by territory.
- Do not expect THE ONE PIECE to pick up here. WIT Studio’s adaptation starts from East Blue and is a separate production.

Why the catalog addition matters
Dressrosa is a significant milestone in One Piece because it combines the series’ large-scale battles with a political liberation story. Luffy and Law’s alliance provides the immediate plot, but the arc’s emotional center is the struggle of a kingdom whose history and identity have been controlled by its ruler.
Adding the material to Netflix makes a very long section of the anime easier to approach for viewers who prefer streaming over buying individual digital episodes or physical releases. It also gives new viewers a convenient route into one of the series’ most consequential post-timeskip stories—provided they have already watched the earlier arcs and understand the characters, alliances, and events that lead to Dressrosa.
