One Battle After Another won Best Film and six competitive awards overall at the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards. Paul Thomas Anderson won Director, while Jessie Buckley, Robert Aramayo, Wunmi Mosaku and Sean Penn took the four acting prizes.
The ceremony took place on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Alan Cumming hosted the event, which was broadcast in the UK on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. This is the winner list for BAFTA’s Film Awards; BAFTA also holds separate Games and Television ceremonies.

The biggest winners at the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards
One Battle After Another was the clear leader, taking six competitive awards, including Best Film, Director and Adapted Screenplay. Sinners and Frankenstein won three awards each, while Hamnet and I Swear won two apiece. The totals below exclude the honorary Fellowship, Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema and the publicly voted EE Rising Star Award.

Acting winners and notable results
All four acting winners were first-time winners at the BAFTA Film Awards, according to BAFTA: Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, Robert Aramayo for I Swear, Wunmi Mosaku for Sinners and Sean Penn for One Battle After Another. The claim refers specifically to the BAFTA Film Awards and does not mean that each performer had never won at any other awards organisation.
Aramayo was the ceremony’s double winner. Alongside Leading Actor, he won the EE Rising Star Award, which is voted for by the public rather than by the standard Film Awards voting process.

The documentary, animation and short-film winners
The documentary prize went to Mr. Nobody Against Putin, credited to David Borenstein, Pavel Talankin, Helle Faber, Radovan SĂbrt and AlĹľbÄ›ta Karásková. The animation prizes went to Zootropolis 2 and Boong, while the short-film awards went to This Is Endometriosis and Two Black Boys in Paradise.
BAFTA’s official UK results page calls the animated winner Zootropolis 2. It is known as Zootopia 2 in the United States. The UK title is retained in the authoritative winner list above.

Before the ceremony, BAFTA’s January 27 nominations announcement said that 46 films had received nominations. One Battle After Another led with 14 nominations, followed by Sinners with 13. Hamnet and Marty Supreme each received 11 nominations, while Frankenstein and Sentimental Value received eight each. I Swear and Bugonia received five each.

Why some 2026 BAFTA lists look different
“BAFTA Awards 2026” can refer to more than one ceremony. BAFTA stages separate Film, Games, Television, TV Craft, Cymru and Scotland awards. This article covers only the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards. BAFTA’s broader awards calendar, plus its separate Games Awards and Television Awards announcements, explain the distinction.
BAFTA’s formal category names are also different from some American shorthand. The official labels are Best Film, Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Film Not in the English Language, Children’s & Family Film and Special Visual Effects. They are not, respectively, “Best Picture,” “Best Actor,” “Best Actress,” “Best International Feature,” “Best Family Movie” and “Best Visual Effects” in the official results.
There has also been inconsistent secondary reporting about two credits. BAFTA’s official results and winners release identify Sinners as the Original Score winner, with Ludwig Göransson; Hamnet won Outstanding British Film and Leading Actress. An alternative BFI roundup has published a different score attribution. BAFTA’s official page also spells the Best Film producer credit Adam Somner, not Adam Summer.
