The live ceremony began at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, following the official red-carpet pre-show at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
That live broadcast has ended, and the original 28-day post-event window expired in March 2025. Netflix still lists the special, but it is not guaranteed to be playable in every country or on every plan. Here is the correct way to check for it now, along with the original viewing details.
Where to watch the 2025 SAG Awards
The ceremony was available on Netflix. To look for the recorded special:
- Open Netflix on a supported television, streaming device, phone, tablet, game console, or computer.
- Choose Search.
- Enter The 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
- Select the 2025 variety special hosted by Kristen Bell.
- Use the playback option shown for your Netflix account.
You can also open the official Netflix listing at netflix.com/title/81745785. Netflix may show the title in search even when playback is restricted in a particular country, profile, or plan, so signing in is the only reliable availability check.

|---|---|---|
| Official pre-show | 7 p.m. | 4 p.m. |
| SAG Awards ceremony | 8 p.m. | 5 p.m. |
The ceremony took place on Sunday, February 23, 2025. The pre-show was hosted by Lilly Singh and Sasheer Zamata and included red-carpet coverage and the announcement of the stunt-ensemble winners. It also streamed on Netflix.
Can you still stream the ceremony?
Netflix’s 2025 event coverage said the awards would remain available for 28 days after the livestream. That period ended in March 2025, so the 2025 SAG Awards should not be described as a permanently available replay.
The Netflix title page continues to identify the program, but availability can change by territory and account. The listing also states that the special is unavailable on an ad-supported plan because of licensing restrictions. If you see a lock, an unavailable-title notice, or no playback button, check the account’s plan and region rather than assuming the event has been removed everywhere.

Netflix plan and account restrictions
Netflix generally includes live events with its plans at no separate event fee. This particular SAG Awards listing, however, has an ad-supported-plan restriction. A viewer on that plan may need to switch to an eligible ad-free plan, if the title is still licensed in that country.
Changing plans will not bypass a regional licensing restriction. Netflix’s catalog differs by country, and a title appearing in search does not necessarily mean it can be played.
Devices that can play Netflix live events
For the original live stream, Netflix supported most recent:

- The Google TV Streamer (4K) delivers your favorite entertainment quickly, easily, and personalized to you[1,2]
- HDMI 2.1 cable required (sold separately)
- See movies and TV shows from all your services right from your home screen[2]; and find new things to watch with tailored recommendations for everyone in your home based on their interests and viewing habits
- Watch live TV and access over 800 free channels from Pluto TV, Tubi, and more[3]; if you find an interesting show or movie on your TV, mobile app, or Google search, you can easily add it to your watchlist, so it’s ready when you are[2]
- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
- Smart TVs
- Streaming media players
- Android phones and tablets
- iPhones and iPads
- Mac and Windows computers
- Game consoles
Netflix required the latest app version for live viewing. Its stated mobile requirements included Android 9 or later for Android devices and iOS or iPadOS 18 or later for iPhones and iPads. Live viewing was also supported in a web browser and through the Netflix app for Windows 10 and later.
Devices and connections that can cause trouble
Some older casting setups do not support Netflix live events. In particular, Netflix does not support live events on Chromecast 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation devices or Chromecast Ultra. Casting from Chrome to a television or external display is also unsupported for live events, as are some wireless screen-mirroring and Google Cast configurations.
Chromecast with Google TV is supported. If a television cannot handle the livestream, Netflix says many events become available as ordinary on-demand programs later, although the length of that availability depends on the event.

What to do if Netflix will not start the event
For the original livestream, Netflix used the message We’re sorry, but the live event is unavailable to join right now
for some access problems. Error code E128 could also appear.
- Wait briefly and try opening the title again.
- Close and restart the Netflix app, or refresh the browser page.
- Install the latest Netflix app update.
- Try a supported device rather than an older Chromecast or browser-casting setup.
- Check whether the account is using an ad-supported plan or whether the title is unavailable in the current country.
For a current replay attempt, the most useful test is to search for the exact title while signed in. If Netflix displays an availability or licensing message, there may be no authorized way to watch the full ceremony from that account.

A VPN or other location-masking service can cause Netflix to display This title is not available in your current region.
Disable the VPN, then sign out and back in if necessary. This can also help after traveling or changing countries, but it will not create rights that Netflix does not hold in the current region.

Playback controls during the live broadcast
Netflix’s live-event player generally allowed viewers to pause, rewind, begin from the start, or jump back to the live point. Commercial breaks could appear during the live event on any plan. On ad-free experiences, those breaks were generally removed from the later on-demand version, although brief post-event promotions could still appear.
FAQ
Was the 2025 SAG Awards on Netflix?
Yes. The 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards streamed exclusively on Netflix on February 23, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
Can I still watch the full 2025 SAG Awards?
Possibly, but it is not guaranteed. Netflix’s announced 28-day post-live availability period ended in March 2025. The title may still appear in Netflix search, but playback depends on country, licensing, profile, and plan.
Why is the SAG Awards special unavailable on my Netflix account?
The Netflix listing identifies an ad-supported-plan restriction. The title may also be unavailable in your region, or Netflix may no longer have replay rights there. Check the title while signed in and disable any VPN.
What was the SAG Awards red-carpet start time?
The official pre-show began at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on February 23, 2025, one hour before the ceremony. Lilly Singh and Sasheer Zamata hosted the pre-show.
The Bottom Line
The 2025 SAG Awards originally streamed on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET on February 23, preceded by a 7 p.m. red-carpet show. To check for a replay, search Netflix for The 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards while signed in. Because the 28-day replay period has passed and the title has plan and regional restrictions, Netflix may not offer the full ceremony in every account.
