He tried “Achy Breaky Heart” without the band
When the technical issues continued, Cyrus attempted an a cappella version of Achy Breaky Heart, his 1992 signature hit. He encouraged the audience to participate and tried to keep the event moving while the crew worked on the equipment.

Reports from the scene also quoted Cyrus asking, “Is anybody awake?” and saying that organizers had told him to “kill as much time as possible.” The exact wording varies slightly between transcriptions, so the video is the best reference for the tone and context of those remarks.
