This documentary portrays the humane aspects of the perspectives on what it means to be a referee as a way of engaging in a more tranquil set of reflection about the meaning of justice, law, and human error in football and beyond, and to this effect is surprisingly similar to Errol Morris’s portrait of Robert McNamara in ‘The Fog of War’.
It tells the story of Martin Hansson, top Football referee, who was having a smooth journey towards his dream achievement, the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, but everything crumbled around him on that one fateful night in Paris on November 18th, 2009, just before the World cup. His story transcends beyond just Football..
