Over the years, breeding has caused changes in some popular dog breeds. For example, when the German shepherd was first “born”, the breed was considered medium sized dog. Early German shepherds weighted around 55 pounds. Nowadays, the shepherd is considered a large size dog.

Breeders are constantly trying to “improve” a dog breed. But often, what happens is they completely change the breed. Improper breeding has changed some of the dogs we have nowadays. When you look at old pictures of popular breeds, you cannot recognize them.

Let this short and educational documentary serve as a wake-up call. If we continue with the improper breeding, who knows how some of the popular breeds will look 100 years from now. And what health issues they will have?
