Algeria is the biggest country in the Africa continent. The country is famous for its beaches and tourism attractions. As such, Algeria attracts a wide range of tourists through the entire year.

What Algeria has managed to do over the years is preserve its traditions. And some of that include the wedding traditions. Family life in Algeria, including the traditional wedding ceremony, has survived the century.

Algeria’s wedding customs are similar to those practicing Muslim religion. The dominant religion in Algeria is Islam, and according to the Qur’an, marriage must be based upon love.

That is just one of the many traditions regarding wedding and marriage. Another one is that Algerian men and women are free to marry whomever they wish, as long as the marriage partner is approved by the family.

This documentary explores all of the wedding traditions in the country by looking into three different weddings. Take a look.
