The Rottweiler is an incredibly impressive breed of dog, known for its strength and loyalty. They have a long and colourful history dating back to their days as herding dogs in Germany. The Rottweiler was originally called the Rottweil butchers’ dog, as they were used to herd livestock and pull carts laden with butchered meat to market. This continued until the middle of the 19th century when the railroads began replacing droving for herding purposes.
Today, these strong and intelligent dogs are highly valued for their companionship and protection. Often used as guard dogs, Rottweilers remain alert and attentive while still being gentle with family members. They are also very loyal and loving animals, which makes them popular with pet owners all over the world.
