Frank Lucas was an American drug trafficker who operated in Harlem during the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was known for cutting out middlemen in the drug trade and buying heroin directly from his source in the Golden Triangle in Southeast Asia.
When he was convicted, the prosecutor said that Lucas killed more Black people than the KKK with the sale of Blue Magic. He was sentenced to 70 years in prison.
This documentary tells the story story of the rise of a small-time Harlem crook to African American drug baron. He was the first Harlem gangster to turn the tables on the mafia by creating a heroin network responsible for a statewide epidemic.
