When you think of World War II and Germany, you think of the Holocaust first. During World War II, Nazi Germany orchestrated a genocide towards Jews.
But there is also a vastly ignored history of Germany during World War II. It is the war Nazi Germany had on gay men. Trans women were also persecuted but Germany categorized them as gay men.
This video brings light to the history of LGBTQ representation in film and television. It also sheds light on some of the forgotten and ignored aspects during World War II.

During World War II, the Gestapo compiled lists of homosexuals. They also shut down gay clubs. Some homosexuals emigrated, while others stayed.
