We get a unique insight into what inspired Jim Morrison’s songwriting and performances; from his passion for cinema to his affinity for literature and poetry. We learn about how he developed his stage presence as well as some of the struggles he faced along the way. His friends explain how they were impacted by his death in 1971, touching upon how they’ve maintained their friendship all these years despite his absence.
The Road of Excess provides an intriguing glimpse into the world of The Doors before there was even a movie in theaters or a soundtrack on record. It’s an essential watch for anyone interested in learning more about one of music’s pioneering groups and its enigmatic lead singer.
