The Republic of Congo is one of the poorest countries in the world. People living there do not have high standard of living.

And in that poor country, men rise to look like a million dollar fashion moguls. La Sape is a unique movement based in Congo. It unites fashion-conscious men who are ready to splurge money they do not really have on designer clothes.

They dress in contrast with their surroundings. In Congo, these men are true local celebrities. However, their fame, and idea of spending a fortune to look like a million dollars comes with a price.

“La Sape” comes from the French language, and stands for “The Society of Ambiance-Makers and Elegant People”. It is all about style and elegance, and combining the right colors and textures.
