Chester’s quiz is not the same in every release of That’s Not My Neighbor. The six-question answer lists below belong to the original itch.io version’s Arcade Mode and Nightmare Mode. If you are playing the remastered Steam release, use the separate five-question Campaign Mode list further down the page.
Capitalization generally does not matter, but spelling does. Enter the answers exactly as shown where possible.
Arcade Mode answers: original itch.io version
The original Arcade Mode quiz has six questions. The answer key uses written-out numbers in two places, so enter Forty Two and Thirty eight rather than 42 and 38.

Nightmare Mode answers: original itch.io version
Nightmare Mode replaces the Arcade questions with six questions from Evil Chester. Several prompts contain unusual spelling or grammar. Those errors appear in the game and are useful for identifying the right question; they do not change the answers.

Input details that matter
- Match the version. The six-question lists above are for the original itch.io release, including its legacy 1.2.0.2 builds.
- Type the spelling accurately. Capitalization is not important, but a misspelling can make the game reject the answer.
- Use the exact number formats. Enter
Forty Two, not42, andThirty eight, not38, for the original Arcade quiz. - Use the hyphen in the SCP answer.
SCP-038is the safest form. Some player testing indicates thatSCP038may also work, but the hyphenated version is the documented answer. - Do not add extra wording. For the final Arcade question, enter
Pirates, not “Fewer pirates.”
Steam remaster: Chester’s Campaign Mode answers
The Steam release launched on March 11, 2025. Its documented Chester event is a five-question Campaign Mode quiz, not the six-question Arcade or Nightmare list above. Use these answers only if your copy is the remaster.

How to identify which answer list you need
- Check where the game came from. The older free itch.io download is the legacy release; the remaster is version 2.0.
- On the developer’s itch.io page, look for the file label. Legacy files are marked That’s not my neighbor (1.2.0.2), while remastered files are marked That’s not my neighbor 2.0 followed by the platform.
- Check the quiz length. Six questions with the original trivia prompts means you need the Arcade or Nightmare tables above. Five questions with the mathematical and coded prompts means you need the Steam Campaign list.
- If the correct-looking answers are rejected, stop changing the spelling first and verify the game version. A version mismatch is the most likely explanation.
There is no command-line command involved in solving or submitting Chester’s quiz. Answers are entered directly into the game’s quiz interface.

Are these answers for the Steam version of That’s Not My Neighbor?
The six-question Arcade and Nightmare lists are for the original itch.io release. Steam’s remaster uses a different five-question Chester quiz in Campaign Mode; those answers are included separately in this guide.
Can I type 42 instead of Forty Two?
For the documented original itch.io Arcade answer key, use Forty Two. The same applies to Thirty eight rather than 38.

Does capitalization matter in Chester’s quiz?
Capitalization is generally accepted, but spelling matters. Exact spelling is recommended, especially for Psychrolutes Marcidus, Wojtek, Zul’Gurub, and MMMDCCCLXXXVIII.
Is SCP038 accepted for the Nightmare question?
Player testing has reported that SCP038 may work, but SCP-038 is the safer documented form.

Why are my answers being rejected when they match this guide?
Check the release and mode first. The original itch.io build has six-question Arcade and Nightmare sets, while the Steam 2.0 remaster has a separate five-question Campaign Mode quiz.

If you are playing version 2.0 on Steam, switch to the five-question Campaign Mode list instead. The version distinction is the key to avoiding otherwise correct answers being rejected.
