The sexual abuse of children inside the Catholic church shook Ireland to its core. Unreported Europe speaks to the survivors and examines if the church has truly taken responsibility for the scandal.
Since 1975, a total of 27 allegations of abuse have been made against 14 priests in the Diocese of Ossory, Ireland.
Ireland is one of the largest Catholic communities in Europe. Yet, it is one of the most scandalous as well. Since 2002, multiple reports and investigations have shed light on nearly 15,000 cases of sexual abuse committed between 1970 and 1990.
At the center of it is the Catholic Church. This documentary explores how far the investigations have gone.
