The term American Dream was coined for the first time by James Truslow Adams in 1931, saying that “life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone”.
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the term means “the ideal that every citizen of the United States should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative”.
The five elements of the American dream are democracy, rights, liberty, opportunity, and equality.
