Iraq: War Reporting

Apr 5, 2023 | Media, Military/War, Videos

This documentary is focused on the media coverage of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 and onwards. You will have a chance to see firsthand the efforts that the Qatar`s Al-Jazeera network has put into a thorough coverage of the ongoing conflict between the US and the Iraqi forces.

Other issues of concern are the truth behind media coverage of this conflict. The focus is on the Qatar`s Al-Jazeera network and their approach in the coverage of the war in comparison with the heavily filtered news coming from Pentagon.

Among the interviewed parties in this documentary, from the US side were the press officer from US Central Command Lieutenant Josh Rushing and correspondents from NBC and CNN, David Shuster and Tom Mintier.

The parties involved from Al-Jazeera were a Sudanese journalist Hassan Ibrahim, a Syrian producer and a journalist Dima Khatib and Al-Jazeera`s editor Samir Khader.

How free and unbiased the media is in today’s society? Is the information that they convey to the public valid and how well do they reflect the reality of the situation at hand? Watch this documentary and find the answer for these questions.
