Area 51 is one of the most mysterious places on Earth. It’s a highly-classified US military facility located deep in the Nevada desert, and for almost 60 years it remained unacknowledged and even disavowed by the US government. That all changed in August 2013, when the CIA finally acknowledged that this place is real.
In this National Geographic special, viewers are taken on a journey to Area 51 with Richard Co, a former United States Air Force pilot who offers legal tours of its perimeter. Through his tour viewers get to see how he is tracked by the facility, and gain an understanding of the sheer scale of Area 51 itself.
