2077 – 10 Seconds to the Future | New Nomads

The year is 2077, and the world is dramatically different from what it was in the early 21st century. The population has exploded, and the Earth struggles to support its many inhabitants. As a result, humankind faces unprecedented challenges concerning resource scarcity, pollution, and climate change. To make matters worse, the proliferation of nuclear technology has created a world that is more volatile, instable, and dangerous than it ever was before.

With that in mind, it’s worth taking a moment to consider what the world might look like at the end of the 21st century. It’s a question that the new documentary “2077: The World After” attempts to answer.

The film explores a future in which humanity has grown beyond the Earth’s carrying capacity, and as such, must adapt or collapse. The documentary covers a broad range of topics, from the challenges involved in meeting energy and food needs sustainably, to the vast migrations that are likely to occur in the coming decades.

The film also explores the geopolitical landscape of the future. With so many nations in possession of nuclear weapons, the possibility of a new world war is always on the horizon. Furthermore, new technologies like nanotechnology and other forms of weaponization could create unprecedented levels of destruction.

Ultimately, the filmmakers argue that the only way to avoid a catastrophic future is to come together as a species to work creatively and constructively to address the many challenges that we face.

If you’re interested in learning more about what the future might hold, “2077: The World After” is a must-watch documentary that will leave you reflecting on the many challenges ahead.
