The documentary also features candid interviews with members of the cast and crew – including Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall – that provide insight into their own experiences on set. Through these conversations, we gain a unique understanding of what it was like to work with one of cinema’s great directors.
Stanley Kubrick’s decision to allow his daughter to document this piece of history is notable in its own right; this marked the first – and only – time that he allowed anyone such unprecedented access on a film set.
