The German small arms of the second world war have been the source of much fascination and admiration among military enthusiasts. From the iconic Luger P08, which almost became the service pistol of the U.S. Army, to the Mauser Gewehr 98 rifle and the MP38/40 machine gun, these weapons have become hallmarks of a era in which innovation in firearms technology was at its peak.
Not all of these weapons are well known though; one such example is the Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 (Paratrooper Rifle 42). This weapon was developed by Nazi Germany for their Paratroopers during World War II and included elements that had never before been seen in a firearm such as an adjustable buttstock, a folding bayonet, and a unique gas system.
Now you can learn more about these remarkable weapons in an upcoming documentary film that will be released soon. The documentary focuses on different aspects of German small arms from development to usage in World War II and beyond. It includes interviews with experts, historical footage, and even some reenactments to bring these weapons to life on screen like never before!
