Jimmy Savile was known for his charity work and entertaining television shows, however his private life was far from saintly. It has come to light that the late entertainer had allegedly been sexually abusing young girls for decades, a fact which has been made even more shocking by the number of people who turned a blind eye to these rumours throughout the years.
Mark Williams-Thomas, a former detective, has recently conducted an investigation into these allegations in the documentary ‘Exposure: The Other Side Of Jimmy Savile’. In the documentary, he examines evidence which suggests that Sir Jimmy Savile had long had an interest in teenage girls; Louis Theroux had even stated as much in public back in 2000. Despite this knowledge however, nobody seemed to want to confront or investigate it any further.
The documentary features interviews with those who were closest to him and experienced first-hand accounts from some of the victims. Through this investigation, Williams-Thomas is able to paint a fuller picture of the abuse suffered by these vulnerable young girls and shed light on why this heinous crime could have remained so hidden for so many years.
