The Mary Bell Case

Apr 19, 2024 | Crime, Videos

On May 25th, 1968, a day before her 11th birthday, Mary Flora Bell tragically took the life of four-year-old Martin Brown. Astonishingly, she is believed to have committed this horrendous crime alone. After the initial death of Brown and before her second killing, Mary and her friend Norma Joyce Bell (no relation), aged thirteen, broke into a nursery in Scotswood and left behind vandalized evidence along with notes which claimed responsibility for the murder of Martin Brown.

The police of Newcastle did not take these claims seriously and instead wrote it off as a prank.
