Beau Brooks deleted his GoFundMe for a religious “mission” after it drew criticism, saying he “cannot take the heat.” PerthNow reported in August 2024 that Brooks put the campaign’s goal at $1 million, then said it had raised around $1,000 and that he planned to donate the money to community members in Craigieburn. The report did not verify the amount or whether the donations were made.
Why did Beau Brooks delete the GoFundMe?
Brooks had asked fans to contribute to what he described as a religious mission, but did not disclose what the mission was. In words attributed to him by PerthNow, he said: “I have a mission and I cannot tell you what it is, for a reason that you must have faith.” He also urged supporters to give money, saying God would promise five times in return. The campaign’s stated target was $1 million, according to the report.
PerthNow reported that Brooks removed the fundraiser the next day. He said he had deleted it because he “cannot take the heat” and promised to explain what he would do with the money. He also apologized for “wording my intentions wrong.”
How much did the campaign raise?
Brooks said the GoFundMe had raised “around $1000,” according to PerthNow. That is his reported estimate, not an independently verified total; the original campaign page was unavailable to confirm its final ledger.

What did Brooks say he would do with the money?
Brooks said he intended to donate the funds to Craigieburn community members whom he believed were working hard to make a difference. He thanked donors and said he would have paperwork to show what happened to the money. PerthNow’s account does not confirm that the donations were subsequently made.
What is established—and what remains unclear?
The PerthNow report establishes that Brooks made an appeal for a religious mission without publicly explaining its purpose, that he later removed the campaign, and that he described the amount raised and his intended use for it. It does not establish the mission’s purpose, an independently verified fundraising total, or completion of the promised donations. The quoted remarks are attributed to Brooks’s social media statements; they should not be treated as independently verified transcripts of the original posts or video.
