What does “best line-up ever” refer to?
The phrase is attributed to Rick Ardon, a 7NEWS presenter who was celebrating his 47th Telethon when PerthNow spoke to him. His words were: “This is the best one ever because of so many stars who are coming over. They all know about the Telethon spirit.”
That is a personal judgement about the year’s guests. It is not a measured comparison with earlier line-ups, and the preview does not provide one.

What the guests said they were looking forward to
PerthNow also quoted two guests on the families they expected to meet. Johanna Griggs said: “I can’t wait to bring the energy. I can’t wait to join the absolute chaos and fun and entertainment, and most of all, hear the stories of the sick children who inspire us and the amazing frontline health workers.”
Tristan Gorey said: “I’m really looking forward to that, to get in touch with some of these kids and just sit and chat and do what you can.”

PerthNow reported that the previous year’s Western Australian donations totalled $83.3 million, which it said supported 161 beneficiaries and described as a record. The figure refers to the year before the 2025 preview, not to the 2025 appeal itself.

The preview does not show the calculation behind the total, and this article has not checked it against Telethon’s own annual accounts. Treat $83.3 million as PerthNow’s reported figure until it is confirmed against those accounts. The final 2025 fundraising total is also outside what this report establishes.
Reading a 2025 preview in 2026
The phrase “next weekend” in the original headline means the weekend after 13 October 2025. Anyone reading it now should treat the names as a record of who was announced for that year’s show, not as a current schedule. For the outcome of that appeal, check Telethon’s own reporting for 2025 rather than relying on the preview.
