The “something” Kevin Costner has offered fans while they wait for Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 is a behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of Horizon. As of Collider’s report of November 6, 2024, it had no streaming home, so its availability today needs to be checked directly.
What the documentary is
The documentary follows the production of Horizon, Costner’s Western project. It is a making-of film, not a new chapter of the saga, and it is the item Collider’s November 2024 article had in mind when it described something to “tide us over.” Collider reported that the film was produced through WME, the talent agency that represents Costner.
Because the only detailed report available describes the project as it stood in late 2024, anyone looking for it now should treat that date as the starting point for their own check, not as a current listing.

- The documentary had no streaming home. Collider said that as of November 6, 2024, the making-of film was not on a streaming service. Whether it has been released since is not established by that report.
- Chapter 1 had reached theaters and later home viewing. Collider identifies its theatrical release date as June 28, 2024, and reports that it later appeared on video on demand (VOD). Collider also reported Max availability for the film in 2024.
- Chapter 2 was waiting on a release plan. After its originally planned August premiere was postponed, Collider reported that the sequel was still awaiting a release strategy. That was the status in November 2024, not a current update.
Neither the documentary’s distribution nor Chapter 2’s release date has been confirmed in any later source reviewed for this piece, so both should be read as open questions.

Collider quoted Costner from an interview with Today. He described the film as a long, demanding undertaking and explained why he kept pushing it forward:

Collider also reported two figures for the first Horizon film. These are secondary-source numbers and have not been independently verified:

How to check whether the documentary is available now
