Why was Ducky Bhai remanded?
Geo News reported that the NCCIA arrested Rehman at Lahore airport and obtained a two-day physical-remand order from a Lahore court on August 17, 2025. The court directed that he be produced again on August 19. Physical remand allows investigators to hold an accused person in custody for a limited period while an investigation proceeds; it is not a conviction or a determination that the allegations are true. What did the FIR allege?
According to Geo News’s account of the FIR, the complaint alleged that Rehman promoted online gambling and betting platforms, including Binomo and 1xBet. The report said the FIR listed sections 13, 14, 25 and 26 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, and sections 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code. This is the charge list as reported from the FIR, not a court finding on whether the provisions apply or whether Rehman committed an offence.

- October 28, 2025: Dawn reported that six NCCIA officials were remanded to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) custody in a separate investigation following a complaint by Aroob Jatoi. The complaint alleged misuse of authority, extortion and bribery; these claims were under investigation and are not findings against the officials. Dawn covered the separate investigation.
- November 24, 2025: The Lahore High Court granted Rehman post-arrest bail subject to surety bonds, according to Business Recorder’s report published the next day. Bail permits release under conditions; it does not decide guilt or end the case. Business Recorder reported the bail order.
- February 2026: Islamabad Post reported that Rehman, his wife and others were indicted and denied the allegations. The paper said witnesses were summoned for February 23. Its account describes the hearing as taking place on Monday, February 9, but that date is not independently confirmed here by a court order. Islamabad Post reported the indictment and scheduled witness date.
What is known about the case now?
The latest milestone established by these reports is the February 2026 account of an indictment and a witness date set for February 23. They do not establish what occurred at that hearing or any later court activity, so no conclusion about the case’s current status or outcome can be drawn from them.

The FIA investigation reported by Dawn is separate from the gambling-promotion prosecution. It followed Aroob Jatoi’s complaint about NCCIA officials and concerned alleged misuse of authority, extortion and bribery. The reported investigation neither proves nor disproves the allegations against Rehman in the gambling case.
