Former West Coast Eagles player David Hart is grieving the sudden death of his son, Kye David Hart, who was 24 and lived on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. A report by The West Australian, carried on PerthNow under the headline “West Coast legend heartbroken after sudden death of son”, describes the family as “heartbroken and devastated”. The report does not give a date for the death and does not state a cause.
What the report says
The article centres on two people. The “West Coast legend” in the headline is David Hart, who played for West Coast in the 1980s and 1990s, earned All-Australian selection and won a premiership in 1994, according to the same report. The person who died was his son, Kye David Hart.
The report gives the following details about Kye:
- Age: 24.
- Home: Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
- Football: he had played QAFL for the Noosa Tigers.
- Day of death: a Saturday. The report does not name the calendar date.
The family’s reaction
The article’s subheading is “DEVASTATED”, and the body describes the family as “heartbroken and devastated”. The report does not name a speaker or quote a family member directly, so these words should be read as the report’s description of the family’s response rather than a statement attributed to any individual.
What is not known from the report
The report does not establish how Kye died, where the death occurred, or the circumstances surrounding it. It also does not give the year of publication. Readers should not assume a cause or timeline beyond what is stated: that Kye died suddenly, on a Saturday, and that his family is grieving.

- Bold 35W Sound with Bass Boost: We've beefed up our bass and tweaked our tweeter. The outcome? Powerful, clearer bass even at max volume and crisp higher frequencies thanks to a clever new tweeter dome design, adding more depth to your speaker's sound. We also added our new tech, Bass Boost, which inceases your music in realtime to deliver maximum acoustic performance with less distortion. It's like our own little audio genie in every X10 MAX. So, now we can give you better all-around sound without the added pounds. Same size, bigger punch.
- Up to 24 hours of playtime: On a single charge, you can keep the music pumping from sunset to sunrise and beyond, maintaining the vibe for a full 24 hours. But the celebration doesn't end there. When we really need to squeeze some extra juice out of our jubilee, or steal another dance with our darling, the innovative Power Save Mode comes to the rescue. By simply closing the dynamic RGB lights, you can conserve energy and gain up to 2 extra hours of playtime. It’s the ultimate party trick that lets you trade a visual spectacle for precious extra moments of audio bliss, ensuring your soundtrack lasts as long as the memories.
- Two-speaker Connection by TWS: Wouldn't it be great to share the vibes with our tribe? Now we can. With True Wireless Stereo (TWS) technology, effortlessly pair two X10 MAX speakers to instantly create a powerful, room-filling stereo system. Experience a wider soundstage where the left and right channels separate, making you feel like you're in the middle of a live performance. Whether it's a party, a backyard gathering, or an outdoor adventure, amplify the moment and ground everyone with the same powerful, synchronized playlist. Double the speakers, double the immersion.
- Waterproof, Dustproof, and Drop-proof: Ever dropped your speaker, watched it tumble down a dusty slope, and plunge into a lake? Probably not. But the fact that you just pictured it means you get it. Life happens. That's why we engineered the X10 MAX to be as life-proof as possible. It boasts an industry-leading IPX7 rating, meaning it's fully protected against water and can survive a 30-minute dunk in water. Plus, we've armored it to withstand accidental drops from up to 1 meter onto hard surfaces. So, while we don't recommend using it for extreme sports, it's built to survive your adventures. Save the throwing for the dance moves, not the speaker.
- Lossless Audio Playback(USB Audio): When music goes lossless, the difference is profound. Every nuance, from the subtle breath of the vocalist to the crisp decay of a cymbal, is preserved. For those who demand the purest fidelity, the X10 MAX makes true lossless playback possible. Simply connect directly to your laptop or audio device using the USB-A port. This direct digital connection bypasses compression, allowing you to hear the music exactly as the artist intended. To embark on this auditory journey, ensure you're playing compatible lossless audio files or streaming from a supported service.

David Hart’s career at West Coast is the reason for the “legend” description in the headline. The report focuses on the family’s loss rather than on football history, and this article follows that emphasis.
