Documented WWE pay-per-view results show Rey Mysterio losing singles matches to Kurt Angle, Matt Hardy, Chavo Guerrero, The Undertaker, Kane and Cody Rhodes. Edge is a separate, format-dependent case: he defeated Mysterio in the multi-person Elimination Chamber at No Way Out 2009, which does not meet a strict one-on-one definition of “singles.” The available records do not establish a complete list through October 8, 2026.
Confirmed one-on-one examples
The following examples are identified as one-on-one matches at WWE pay-per-view events. WWE’s own event pages verify three of the listed results; the other examples rely on secondary match-history or event-summary sources.
| Opponent | Event | Result and source |
|---|---|---|
| Kurt Angle | SummerSlam 2002 | Angle defeated Mysterio, according to the RingHistory career match listing. |
| Matt Hardy | WrestleMania XIX | Hardy defeated Mysterio, according to the RingHistory career match listing. |
| Chavo Guerrero | SummerSlam 2006 | WWE’s official match result identifies Chavo as the winner. |
| The Undertaker | Royal Rumble 2010 | WWE’s official event history records Undertaker defeating Mysterio. |
| Kane | SummerSlam 2010 | WWE’s official match page identifies Kane as the winner. |
| Cody Rhodes | WrestleMania 27 | Khel Now’s WrestleMania record summary reports Rhodes winning their singles match. |
Why Edge at No Way Out 2009 is different
An AS retrospective identifies Edge as the winner of the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out 2009, with Mysterio the last eliminated. That is a multi-person match, not a one-on-one contest. Include Edge only if “singles match” is being used loosely to mean a match with an individual winner rather than a strict singles format.
How to read this list
“Singles” here means one wrestler against one wrestler. That excludes tag-team and other multi-person bouts, battle royals and Royal Rumble matches, as well as matches outside PPV events. A wrestler’s career match listing can contain all of those formats, so an opponent’s name in a record is not enough by itself: the event and match format have to qualify too.

No complete, scope-filtered result archive is established by the available sources. The names above are documented examples, not a guaranteed full historical roll call through October 8, 2026. In particular, WWE’s official pages directly verify Chavo Guerrero at SummerSlam 2006 and Kane at SummerSlam 2010, while other entries depend on secondary records; no source cited here supplies an attributable total for every qualifying loss.
