The song that plays during the Minecraft credits is “Alpha” by C418, the stage name of composer Daniel Rosenfeld. It is a track from the album Minecraft – Volume Alpha, not the piece most players associate with the End dimension.
Who made the credits song
C418 is the artist name of Daniel Rosenfeld, who composed much of Minecraft’s original soundtrack. The game’s official credits page lists Daniel Rosenfeld under “Music composed by,” alongside other composers. That listing confirms his role on the game, but it does not on its own tell you which cue runs over the credits. The track-level identification comes from a community-maintained credit-sequence reference, and it is corroborated by C418’s own album listing, which includes “Alpha” in its track sequence.

| Track | Where it plays | Album |
|---|---|---|
| “Alpha” | Credits sequence | Minecraft – Volume Alpha |
| “The End” | The End dimension | Separate C418 track; not the credits cue |
| “Sweden” | Not identified as the credits track in the credit-sequence reference | Minecraft – Volume Alpha |
“The End” is the track to avoid substituting for the credits answer. “Sweden” sits on the same album as “Alpha,” which is why it is sometimes mentioned in the same breath, but the credit-sequence reference does not place it over the credits.
Why the game files give different names
If you look for the credits audio in the game’s files, the filename differs by edition. According to the same community-maintained reference, the Java Edition uses alpha.ogg and the Bedrock Edition uses credits.ogg. This is an implementation detail: the filename does not change which song is playing. Do not treat either filename as the song’s title. The track is “Alpha” in both editions.
Rank #2
The filename evidence is weaker than the track identification. It comes from a community reference rather than a directly inspected official game asset, so treat the exact filenames as indicative rather than guaranteed, and check your own installed version if you need them for modding.
