John Krasinski and Natalie Portman described filming the Liverpool car chase in Fountain of Youth as a genuinely nerve-racking ride, while Portman said Guy Ritchie’s rapid, rhythm-driven dialogue brought its own playful challenge. Their accounts point to two distinct demands: reacting inside a moving action scene and finding the timing in Ritchie’s densely phrased lines.

What is Fountain of Youth about?

Guy Ritchie’s adventure film stars Krasinski and Portman as estranged siblings who set out to find the mythical Fountain of Youth, according to the Associated Press. The film premiered globally on Apple TV+ on May 23, 2025; availability can vary by territory and may change, so check the service’s current listing.

Why did the car chase feel so intense?

Krasinski recalled that the actors did not know exactly how fast the car would feel in the moment. In the Collider interview reproduced by Filmibee, he said: “It was very, very fast. I don’t think either Natalie or I knew exactly how fast we were going to go, and so it was kind of like being on one of those thrill rides that people do, that when you see them, you go, ‘I would never do that.’”

He added: “So, it was a lot of fun to scream our heads off and actually be scared. That was fun.” His description conveys how the sequence felt to the actors; it is not a measured speed report.

Portman likewise described real driving and real fear during the Liverpool chase. In an interview with Buro Malaysia, she said: “I wasn’t the one driving, of course, but that was genuine screaming terror from me because we were really whipping around corners.” The interview does not establish the car’s speed or detail the stunt-safety arrangements.

What made Guy Ritchie’s dialogue challenging?

Portman said she enjoyed Ritchie’s attention to the rhythm of dialogue, even when the wording became difficult to deliver. In the Collider interview reproduced by Filmibee, she described some lines as: “Sometimes he’d put together word combinations that felt like tongue twisters, and it was a very fun and funny challenge.”

That account makes the difficulty sound less like learning lines alone and more like landing their cadence: the words had to move quickly while remaining clear. Portman characterized that precision as enjoyable, not simply an obstacle.

Where did the production film its action?

Buro’s May 13, 2025 interview says principal photography lasted five months and describes filming in Bangkok, Vienna, London and Cairo. The actors discussed the Liverpool chase and a fight in Vienna’s National Library as real-location sequences. Krasinski recalled the library scene in Buro’s interview: “And flying a drone around in the library while we’re fighting was surreal and fun.”

The Associated Press reported that the production filmed at the Giza pyramids, describing it as the first film of its scale to receive permission to shoot action sequences there. AP also reported that major scenes inside the pyramids and the Lusitania wreck were made on sets at Leavesden. Those details distinguish location filming from constructed sets rather than suggesting every sequence was shot at the sites it depicts.

What did the actors say about the film’s scope?

Portman told the Associated Press that the adventure’s scale was part of its appeal: “It’s so rare to get to make a movie that has this scale and this scope of adventure that you can watch with your kids.” That comment reflects her view of the film as a family-friendly adventure; it is not a formal age-rating or suitability recommendation.

How to read the original headline and its sequel speculation

The exact-title story appeared on Filmibee on May 24, 2025, and is marked as automatically aggregated with Collider credited as its source. Its central account of the actors’ comments should therefore be understood as interview remarks reproduced from Collider, not as independently reported production measurements. The story also speculates about the siblings’ father and a possible sequel; that speculation is not confirmation that a sequel is planned.
