Ricki-Lee Coulter said a Logies win would be “some sweet, sweet justice” for Australian Idol viewers who believed she was unfairly eliminated in 2004. She was nominated for the 2025 Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter for hosting Australian Idol, but Todd Woodbridge won the award.
Why Coulter called a win “sweet justice”
In a pre-ceremony interview reported by The Nightly on 31 July 2025, Coulter linked the nomination to her earlier Australian Idol experience. She said people had told her they voted for her and felt she had been “robbed.” The award, she said, would be justice for those viewers: “And I think for those people, if I win this award, that’s some sweet, sweet justice for them.”
The phrase was conditional: Coulter was describing what a win would mean, not claiming she had won. She also called the nomination a “crazy, amazing, full-circle moment.”
From Australian Idol contestant to presenter nominee
Coulter competed on Australian Idol in 2004. The Nightly reported that she placed seventh. Years later, she returned to the program as a host and was nominated for the 2025 Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter for Australian Idol.

Did Ricki-Lee win the 2025 Logie?
No. Todd Woodbridge won the presenter award. The ABC’s 2025 winners list, published 4 August 2025, confirms the result. Coulter’s “sweet justice” remark was a hope tied to the nomination, not the outcome.

The 2026 Logies were a separate ceremony held on 16 August 2026. The ABC reported that Sam Pang won the 2026 Gold Logie. That later result does not change the outcome of Coulter’s 2025 presenter nomination.
