Why do some reports say 19 awards?
The Walt Disney Company’s September 15, 2024 announcement says Shōgun won 19 awards. Its detailed list, however, separates 18 awards for the series from one award for the short-form companion program Shōgun – The Making of Shōgun. That broader count explains the difference: the Academy’s cycle total for the main series is 18, while Disney’s 19 includes the separately listed companion program.
