The wrestler with the most career losses in WWE history, according to the most widely cited published count, is The Miz, with 1,309 reported losses. That figure comes from a News9 LIVE list dated July 12, 2024. It is a media-reported tally, not an official WWE ledger, and the list does not explain how its totals were counted.
Who has the most losses, according to the 2024 list
News9 LIVE published a ranking of wrestlers by reported career losses on July 12, 2024. The nine names it displays, with their totals, are below.
| Rank | Wrestler | Reported losses |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Miz | 1,309 |
| 2 | Kane | 1,229 |
| 3 | Brooklyn Brawler | 1,214 |
| 4 | Dolph Ziggler | 1,187 |
| 5 | Randy Orton | 1,054 |
| 6 | Big Show | 910 |
| 7 | Cody Rhodes | 893 |
| 8 | Sheamus | 885 |
| 9 | Triple H | 839 |
Every figure above is News9 LIVE’s, as of its July 12, 2024 publication. Because the article is dated 2024, it cannot reflect matches wrestled afterward, so the totals for active wrestlers should be treated as a snapshot rather than a current count.
What the numbers do and do not establish
The list is useful as a starting point, but it has limits that matter if you plan to cite it.

- It is not WWE-certified. No official WWE all-time career-loss table was located in the material reviewed for this article, so these totals should not be described as official company records.
- Its counting rules are not published. The article does not say whether it counts only televised matches or also live events and house shows, whether developmental brands are included, how multi-person matches are scored for each participant, or how wrestlers who competed under earlier company names are handled. Each of these choices can change a ranking, especially for wrestlers with long careers.
- It does not show an underlying dataset. A reader cannot check any single total against a match-by-match record from the article alone.
- Its date limits it. A ranking published in July 2024 is not a current standing as of October 2026.
Curt Hawkins and the streak record
Curt Hawkins is often mentioned in loss-count discussions, but his best-known record is a different measure. WWE’s official Curt Hawkins biography describes a consecutive losing streak of 269 matches that began after his 2016 return, and says Hawkins ended it at WrestleMania 35 in a tag-team victory with Zack Ryder. The biography puts it this way:
“There have been some legendary streaks in sports-entertainment history, but no Superstar can touch the streak held by Curt Hawkins — 269 consecutive losses without a single win.” (WWE, Curt Hawkins biography)

- Rey Mysterio can enter the match with the vehicle's launching action.

A consecutive streak and a career total answer different questions. Hawkins’ 269 losses in a row do not place him on a career-loss list, and a long career total does not indicate a streak.
Why CAGEMATCH does not settle the question
CAGEMATCH’s WWE promotion page is a common place to look up win and loss records. The view retrieved for this article displays a current-year win/loss record rather than a complete career ranking, so it can confirm an individual wrestler’s record for a given year but cannot produce an all-time order.

How to check a career-loss count yourself
If you need a ranking you can defend, rebuild it with the following decisions made explicitly and stated in your write-up:
- Choose the database and record its cutoff date. Note exactly when the data was pulled, since active wrestlers add losses constantly.
- Define match scope. Decide whether to count televised matches only, premium live events, house shows, or developmental brand matches, and apply that rule to every wrestler.
- Decide how multi-person matches count. A battle royal or multi-team match can be scored as a loss for every participant on the losing side, or left out entirely. Pick one rule and apply it consistently.
- Set the era rule. Decide how to treat WWF-era matches and other identity or company-name changes, and state the rule so readers can compare your totals with others.
- Keep the streak and the career total separate. Report consecutive losing streaks as their own statistic, as WWE does for Hawkins.
Until a ranking meets these conditions, the News9 figures are best read as a published estimate of career losses for the wrestlers it lists, with The Miz at the top of that list.
