Most of the principal Game of Thrones cast have kept working since the HBO series ended, across television, film, voice roles and production. The series ran eight seasons, according to CableTV.com’s 2026 roundup. The snapshot below covers ten principal performers as of October 2026. It is a representative selection, not a full cast list, and it does not rank anyone by success or earnings. Current status varies: some of these titles are out, some are streaming, and others are still being finished or have only been announced.
Status snapshot for ten principal cast members
Each row gives the recent or current work reported for the performer and the status the source assigns to it. The labels matter, because a viewer can watch a released title but cannot watch one that is still in post-production.
- Released: the source reports the title as out.
- Streaming: the source describes the title as available on a service; availability depends on the country.
- In production or post-production: the title is being made or finished, and the source gives no viewing date.
- Casting or attachment: the performer is reported as set for a role, but the project has not aired.

Peter Dinklage: film work and four Emmys
Peter Dinklage played Tyrion Lannister, and CableTV.com’s 2026 roundup credits him with four Primetime Emmy Awards for his Game of Thrones work. The roundup highlights his film and voice work, including Cyrano and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Both are earlier credits, so they should not be presented as new releases.
Kit Harington and a possible return to Jon Snow
Kit Harington’s current projects, A Tale of Two Cities and Count My Lies, are listed as upcoming or in production, so neither should be treated as available to watch yet. The more discussed question is Jon Snow. In a report dated September 22, 2026, GamesRadar+ quoted Harington on the Happy Sad Confused podcast: “I still think there’s a world in which something could work. I wouldn’t have gone into it in the first place if I didn’t.” He added: “Now I’ve gone and done all these other things, and now I feel more comfortable with that character and that world again and where it sits in my life.”

#1 Best Overall
These remarks express personal openness, not an announcement. The same report says an earlier Jon Snow project was shelved after Harington confirmed in 2024 that no story exciting enough had been found. Nothing in the report establishes an HBO commission, a production order, a release date or a cast announcement for a new Jon Snow series. Any plot ideas in the report are speculation.
Projects still ahead for Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams
Sophie Turner is reported as set to play Lara Croft in a Tomb Raider television adaptation. That is a casting report, not a role that has aired. Maisie Williams’s 500 Miles and Practical Magic 2 are both reported as in post-production, with no release date given in the source.

The Game of Thrones catalog and the wider Westeros story
HBO describes Game of Thrones as an epic drama based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, and its catalog continues to list the series. The wider Westeros story has also continued with House of the Dragon, which HBO describes as set 200 years before Game of Thrones. That extends the setting but is not a continuation of the original cast’s story.

How to check a title’s status before you watch
- Look up the title on the official HBO page, or on the studio or distributor’s site, rather than relying on a roundup.
- Check the release or premiere date there. A title listed as in post-production has no date yet.
- Confirm availability in your country, because a streaming label does not mean the same service is available everywhere.
- Treat a casting report as casting until an official announcement confirms a production order or premiere.
