Bawri Chhori is a 2021 Hindi drama with quirky comedy running through it. Aahana Kumra plays Radhika, a woman whose husband leaves her for London. Instead of waiting for him to come back, she follows him there with revenge on her mind, not reconciliation. Along the way she meets people who try to talk her out of the plan and others who encourage it, and those encounters drive the film. Comedy, drama, or both?
Bawri Chhori sits between genres, and the film’s own description makes that explicit. In an interview with The Indian Express, Kumra called it a film that is “quirky and sweet slice-of-life,” and she described it as “a coming-of-age film.” She also warned viewers about a twist and an intense second half, so the tone shifts as the story goes on. Light, character-driven comedy dominates the early stretch. The later stretch asks more of the audience.
That mix is the most useful thing to know before you watch. If you expect a straightforward comedy, the second half will feel heavier. If you expect a grim revenge thriller, the first half will feel looser than you planned for.

Most stories about a left-behind spouse end with a reunion or a reckoning at home. Kumra explicitly set Radhika’s arc apart from that template. In the same Indian Express interview she said Radhika does not go to London to win her husband back. In her words: “Instead, she will find him, beat him up and make his ‘achaar’ (pickle).” That line explains the film’s comic posture. Radhika’s anger is the engine, and the humour comes from the gap between her plan and the people trying to steer her away from it.
The Scroll review’s headline frames the film around revenge and sisterhood. This article does not rely on that review’s verdict or scene-by-scene reading, because its full text was not available for this piece.

Release, service, and where to watch
The Indian Express reported that Bawri Chhori would start streaming on Eros Now on January 11, 2021. Two platform listings describe the film. They agree on the year and language details but differ on runtime.

Both listings are undated, and the 78-minute and 82-minute figures conflict by four minutes. Neither platform explains the gap. Treat the runtime as approximate until you see it on the service you use.

- Check the country or region selector on that service. Catalog rights are territory-specific, so an Indian listing does not guarantee access elsewhere.
- If the title does not appear in your region, search the service’s Hindi drama section and try the title in its original spelling, “Bawri Chhori.”
- If you have a subscription through a third-party billing channel, confirm the film is included in that plan, since bundled access can differ from a direct subscription.
Who the film is likely to suit
Based on the tonal description and the premise, Bawri Chhori will suit viewers who like character-led Hindi films that bend a familiar relationship story into something sharper. It is less likely to satisfy anyone looking for a fast-paced thriller or a film that resolves neatly. Its strongest hook is the reversal of the reconciliation plot. Its weakest point, based on Kumra’s own warning about the second half, may be how abruptly the tone moves from one register to another.
Viewers comparing it with other woman-led revenge comedies or journey films should look at three things: whether the central character is chasing justice or closure, how much of the film sits in comedy versus intensity, and whether reconciliation is still on the table. Kumra herself noted that a similar premise does not make two characters’ stories identical, so premise alone is a weak basis for comparison.
