En noviembre de 2024, Emily Alexandra publicó en sus historias de Instagram que su bebé de nueve meses estaba hospitalizado. Varios medios difundieron el anuncio y lo relacionaron con el cantante Xavi, pero ninguna de las notas informó el diagnóstico, y Xavi no confirmó públicamente que fuera el padre. Lo que sigue explica qué se publicó, qué no está establecido y cómo leer este tipo de noticias sin dar por cierto lo que no lo está.
Qué informaron los medios en noviembre de 2024
La cobertura se apoyó en un único punto de origen: la publicación de Emily Alexandra en Instagram. People en Español, Univision y Milenio la recogieron, y las tres notas coinciden en los datos básicos:
- Quién anunció la noticia: Emily Alexandra, mediante una historia de Instagram.
- Qué anunció: que su bebé estaba ingresado en un hospital.
- Edad del bebé: nueve meses, según las notas de entonces.
- Tono del mensaje: preocupación y esperanza, con la frase que se explica más abajo.
People en Español publicó la nota el 9 de noviembre de 2024 con el titular «¡Ingresado el bebé del cantante Xavi! “Estás en manos de Dios”». Milenio la publicó el mismo día. Univision también informó del ingreso, pero la fecha exacta de su nota no aparece en la versión consultada, por lo que solo puede situarse en noviembre de 2024.

Los artículos dejan varias preguntas abiertas, y conviene distinguirlas de lo confirmado:

- El motivo del ingreso. No se informó ningún diagnóstico. Univision señaló que se desconocía el padecimiento del bebé, y ninguna de las notas atribuye una causa clínica.
- La paternidad. Xavi no había confirmado públicamente que fuera el padre. Según Univision, cuando le preguntaron por el tema en una entrevista radial, respondió sin confirmarlo. Por eso las notas hablan de un «supuesto» bebé o de un bebé «relacionado» con el cantante.
- La situación actual. Las notas de noviembre de 2024 no describen cómo evolucionó el cuadro. Este artículo no incluye actualizaciones verificadas posteriores a esa fecha.
También conviene notar que no aparece en la cobertura ninguna declaración de un médico, de un hospital, de un portavoz de Xavi o de una autoridad sanitaria sobre el estado del bebé. Todo lo que se sabe proviene del mensaje de Emily Alexandra.
La frase atribuida a Emily Alexandra
People en Español reprodujo como parte del mensaje de Emily Alexandra la frase: «Pero todo tiene una razón de ser y estás en manos de Dios». Puede atribuirse a ella según el texto que publicó la revista, pero la historia original de Instagram no se pudo verificar de forma independiente. Si se cita, conviene indicar que se trata de la reproducción de People en Español y no de una captura del mensaje original.

Cómo verificar una noticia de salud sobre una figura pública
Cuando un anuncio de salud involucra a una persona famosa y a otra persona cuyo vínculo no está confirmado, conviene seguir estos pasos antes de compartirlo:
- Comprueba la fecha de publicación de cada nota y no la presentes como una actualización si es antigua.
- Localiza el mensaje original, como la historia de Instagram, y distingue entre lo que dice la persona que lo publicó y lo que añade el medio.
- Busca una declaración de la familia, del hospital o de un representante antes de atribuir un vínculo familiar.
- Separa el anuncio de hospitalización del diagnóstico. Un ingreso no indica por sí mismo la causa ni la gravedad.
- Evita diagnósticos y especulaciones sobre la salud de un menor que no aparezcan en las fuentes.
Aplicado a este caso, el paso 2 muestra que todo depende de un único mensaje publicado por Emily Alexandra, y el paso 3 revela que no hay una confirmación pública de la paternidad. Ninguna de las dos cuestiones se resuelve con la información disponible en noviembre de 2024.

Qué se puede decir hoy
Lo que se puede afirmar con seguridad es que en noviembre de 2024 se reportó el ingreso hospitalario de un bebé de nueve meses a partir de la publicación de Emily Alexandra. Lo que no se puede afirmar es cuál fue el motivo, cómo evolucionó el cuadro ni si Xavi es el padre. Si aparecen declaraciones oficiales posteriores de Emily Alexandra, de Xavi o de medios que cubran el caso, conviene leerlas como nuevas informaciones y no como una continuación de las notas de 2024.
