Karina Banda dijo en mayo de 2024 que se sentía lista para ser mamá y que se estaba preparando. Contó que congeló óvulos después de que una evaluación médica señalara una reserva ovárica baja para su edad. En agosto de 2026, un nuevo reporte indicó que seguía buscando un embarazo y contemplaba volver a intentar reproducción asistida bajo supervisión médica; no confirmó un embarazo ni un nacimiento.
Qué dijo Karina Banda sobre ser mamá
“Hoy más que nunca estoy lista para ser mamá, me estoy preparando”, dijo Banda en una entrevista exclusiva con People en Español publicada el 1 de mayo de 2024. Describió la maternidad como un deseo personal y señaló que se sentía en un momento de mayor estabilidad profesional y de pareja.
En ese momento, Banda y Carlos Ponce estaban casados desde 2022. Ponce ya tenía cuatro hijos de una relación anterior. En la entrevista expresó entusiasmo ante la posibilidad de ser padre con Banda: “La posibilidad de ser papá me emociona mucho. Creo en el plan divino de Dios y si es su voluntad, yo le doy la bienvenida”.
Por qué congeló óvulos
Banda contó que, cuando tenía 33 años y comenzó a buscar un bebé, acudió a una evaluación médica. Según su relato, le dijeron que su reserva ovárica era baja para su edad. Dijo que congeló óvulos en marzo de 2024 para preservar una posibilidad futura de concebir. Univision también informó en mayo de 2024 que ese era el objetivo que ella había explicado al hablar del procedimiento en el programa Desiguales.
