That premise is the bridge from an ordinary teenager’s life to his role in the supernatural conflict at the heart of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Who is Yuji Itadori?
Yuji Itadori is a central character in Jujutsu Kaisen, the manga created by Gege Akutami. He is also listed in the official anime character directory. The series begins with him as a teenager whose decision to help his friends draws him into a world of supernatural danger.
That shift is the useful starting point for understanding Yuji: he does not enter the story already established as an extraordinary sorcerer. The publisher’s synopsis presents his decisive act as the event that pulls him into a much larger conflict.
How does Yuji Itadori become a jujutsu sorcerer?
VIZ summarizes the inciting choice this way: “By acting to save his friends, Yuji Itadori is thrust into a demonic war!” The sentence describes the series premise, not a creator or character quotation. It establishes the stakes and the transition: Yuji’s attempt to protect people leads him into a supernatural struggle.
